When you run out of straw man arguments just bring out a straw man who tells you he’s a Christian too and can’t understand why Palin is popular with...blah blah blah. Where’s the guy with the “Troll Be Gone” spray—? Seems they could use a little of it down in Knoxville.

This guy, Stan, is so full of crap it’s coming out of mouth. I very much doubt he is a “social conservative”. If you are a social conservative, you do not have to say it. And his critiques of Sarah have been written already by liberals. Stan is an idiot, pure and simple.

.... The religious right’s fascination with Sarah Palin befuddles me. ...
That’s because Stan doesn’t understand Heart and Principles!

Sure, she isn’t perfect, but for sure she isn’t bought (by Soros or any other special interest).
That’s what Stan can’t understand, that common folk can pick up on the ‘bought RINOs” and other trash floating out there in political fantasy space!

I just can take people seriously who still get their information from MSMediots. After Brian Williams half quoted Gov. Palin to herself, she called him on it and he did not back down, why would anyone take anything that pack of liars says, reports or asked her about seriously?

More subliminal BS....

Yet the religious right mostly went gaga

Lady Gaga can is an accomplished multi-instrimentalist...song writer for many artists prior to her current fame ...and manages a multi faceted multinational business.

".... The religious right’s fascination with Sarah Palin befuddles me. ..."

Maybe because a true Christian understands the human heart. Sarah is like us. She's not perfect, she makes mistakes & she's doing the best she can.

I can see differing with some political views, but taking cheap shots at her intelligence, her ability to handle her family while doing other things is being mean & slimy for no good reason.

I admire her as a woman, her energy, her strong stand for life and for so many other things.

The last crack about her looks really says it all about guy who wrote this hit piece!

"The Religious Right." The guy managed to lose me in three words. His case is actually that one of his stereotypes seems to him incompatible with another of his stereotypes and he just doesn't get why they don't all see things his way.

It's just a guess, and perhaps the sample size isn't very large, but it seems to me that Mr. Giles is rather condescending and not particularly bright. One wonders who, exactly, he means by "religious right" - a bunch of unlettered fanatics who run shrieking from the accusation of sin? Well, he's accusing, and they're not running. And Giles apparently finds that hard to figure out.

Hey Stan, seems that flood in Tn washed yer hair away.

Pity Obama wasn't there to intervene with FEMA, Had they gotten there at all they might have prevented the flood waters from washing away your brain.

While I like Sarah, and think most of the criticism levied at her here by concerned conservatives (and their contemporaries over at the Daily Kos) are ridiculous, it can’t be denied that she does have a group of people who could give Obamists a run for their hero-worshipping money.

But at least, to date, no starlets have come out saying they’d clear a path of picked-up plastic cups for her, and no third-rate musicians have made glassy-eyed cult-like “yes we can” videos. When that happens, then we can talk about how irrational conservatives are about Sarah. Until then, even the most over-the-top Palin supporter glows with an aura of enlightenment and pure reason compared to the ignorant stooges who gave us Obama.

There seem to be several articles this week where the initial 2008 media hits on Palin are recounted, partially excused, or slightly amended. It makes me think that there is a co-ordinated purpose to remind people about how Gov. Palin was perceived initially. This effort is probably intended to counter her attempts to re-define herself through Facebook, FoxNews, Going Rogue, and her speaking engagements. The hope is that by restating the lie, that it will get a new life.

I don’t like being too suspicious of other Republicans, but it’s such an ineffectual and amateurish tactic that it brings to mind ineffectual and amateurish “leaders” in the moderate wing of the party.

Each of the assertions that are already proven false but are again spit out, need to be batted down and this tactic exposed for what it is.

Don’t you love it when leftists try to pretend to be a right winger. Social conservative but pro government intervention in the economy makes you a left winger, not a right winger, of the Stalin type

If Palin runs, she'll have to run the primary gauntlet first. Voters of all stripes will then have a chance to re-evaluate her and compare her with the latest big and little 'r' Republican hopefuls.

She may have been a newbie with regards to national exposure and national league political hardball, and it showed, but on a practical level, at least she had management experience and success, unlike Biden or obama.

That was then, this is now, and now she probably understands national politics and the Chicago way as well as or better than any potential Republican challenger.

And, we voters have had a lot of unfortunate experience with Biden and obama and the progressive's suicide.

It remains to be seen if she has improved her interview and debate skills. Still...if she decides to run against the probable opposition, it likely won't even be a fair fight. No one else has her charisma and no one drives the left as crazy: a winning combination.

And no one has her draw and star power. If she runs, more people will be paying attention to the primary that would normally, just out of curiosity. If she screws it up like the Couric interview, she'll fade away.

If she does well, the SRM won't be able to spin it and we'll see a Palin landslide in November.

Palin has never impressed me as much as she does many here. Her campaign finesse on the pregnant daughter’s forthcoming daughter - Sarah shoulda told us herself, and not let the news idiots break the story. Her appalling lack of preparation for the Gibson and Couric interviews, too... She seemed to go in expecting the Democrat newspeople to ask her the same kind of softball questions they asked the little, polite, black, apprentice senator, the one Biden called “the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy.” And then the resignation from Alaska - couldn’t stand the heat, got out of the kitchen.

So she falls short of my hopes, but not of my expectations. Because she’s a politician, and I expect to be disappointed by every politician.
