I only heard good things about Welch but it's probably best to avoid a bloody primary fight.

This is a helpful development. I’m sure that Welch would have been a good Congressman, but this wasn’t his year. Hopefully he has a future in politics.

OK, please enlighten us, because the blog page doesn't. Are Welch and Gerlach Republicans or Democrats? If we don't live in PA, we would have no idea.
Just curious, about it, but in the interest of information, it would have been useful to put that in the body of the thread.

I wouldn’t have minded seeing Gerlach go down if Welch is more conservative (is he?). But he probably wouldn’t have beaten him.
