Nevermind that Brown opposes Obamacare, opposes tax-payer funding of abortion, and supports abortion restrictions.
In supporting Scott Brown (as in supporting Mitt Romney), even the most rabid conservatives go from 0% representation in the House or Senate, to maybe 25% representation.
Martha Coakley is no friend of conservatives, and will reliably vote against their interests 100% of the time.
In Massachuetts, it is not a matter of getting what you want, it is a matter of avoiding what you absolutely DON’T want.
A good rip-roaring negative contest just might work. Martha has, on balance, far more negatives than Scott.
TEA PARTAAAAYYYYYY!
Who will Mr. Brown regard as his enemies—conservatives or liberals? Even if he can’t push any conservative positions himself, if he regards liberals as his enemies, he should be welcomed as a friend to conservatives. Conversely, one who regards conservatives as enemies should be treated in kind, regardless of how he votes on issues.

Another good post. Thanks
In supporting Brown, we are indeed taking a chance that we are empowering the next John McCain or Lindsey Graham to hijack the party and stall the conservative advance. He will be wooed by the media, the lobbyists, the opposition party with press ops, pork, committee postions and outright payola to turn on us. If he is indeed a closet socialist, he will be held up by the MSM as one of the mouthpieces of the national party to give bipartisan cover to the their agenda.
That being said, the RiNO’s in safely republican states seem to be the hardest to get rid of. With no conservative support, he’d be pretty vulnerable to a Dem challenger. If he needs to be put down, we can just step aside and let the other side do the dirty work. I think it’s worth the risk right now. But I don’t get a vote on this one. Hoping the people of Mass will do the right thing.
