Picking the worst or most disappointing people of 2009 is the task that should require sincere thought, deep investigation, and fair judgment over myriad objective data. However, naming the Republican Party as the most disappointing person in 2009 posed no reflective issues whatsoever and brings the most distaste as a third generation member of the party.
Republicans continue to work toward no apparent goal except to disrupt, obstruct and demonize anything the new administration proposes. They embrace and employ Fox News to foment hatred and vitriol for issues that Republicans know are lies.
When Sarah Palin lies, she lies as a good Christian Conservative Republican and her statements, buzzwords, and little catch phrases come straight from the party. Instead of calling the lies for what they are, the party embraces her hate-speak and works in concert with Fox News and their Glenn Beck liar-drone to reinforce Palins vile mouth.
The party should distance itself from Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin, Fox News, and the hate-mongering Bible Bunch and regain a sense of dignity. The Tea Party idiots, birthers, and racists are the face of the Republican Party now and it is humiliating. They would have no discourse at Town Hall meetings because the Tea Party terrorists used Nazi tactics to disrupt and halt the meetings all the while claiming they love America.
Republicans, especially the ultra-conservative extremists damage the partys image every time they use tactics that are beneath decent Americans. It is all the more disheartening when longtime leaders are not condemning the tactics just as much as it is when Christians do not condemn hate mongering. Unfortunately, there seems no end in sight as long as extremists in the party continue to dictate the personality of its members with their incessant obstructionist stance and inability to tell the truth. Republicans are easily the worst person in 2009 which is apropos considering they were the worst person for the entire decade.
Hard to tell anymore isn’t it?
It seems that Crazy is the new “Normal”. There was a time, back when America was strong and free, when people like this were locked up for their own safety (and that of others) rather than celebrated and given newspaper columns.
If you read through the whole rambling editorial I posted you’ll see that our editor used the word “Change” as if it has some kind of supernatural power again and again. In fact the very first line she uses is “Change is the mantra of the 21st century. It certainly has been the theme of my 10-plus years as editor.”.
These people are nuts.
In the science of psychology, I believe that's called "projection". It allows people to avoid unpleasant truths about one's own character and behavior and to evade responsibility for one's words and actions.
In the universe of progressive/communist tactics, it resembles an intentional ploy by which one blames political adversaries for what one's own side is actually doing. The effect is to distract and disarm opponents long enough to achieve power. In this particular case, I think the author is just plain nuts.
Yep. Many of them are as crazy as a rabid raccoon in a bourbon barrel. But there are others among them who know precisely what they are doing. By "change", they mean the imposition of a collectivist ideological vision where people are (forcibly) reeducated toward serving others' needs rather than pursuing their own wealth and happiness. They imagine the result will be Utopian perfection, all past evidence to the contrary. The true result, as always, is enslavement, poverty, destruction and death. But they mean well.
What makes you think the author is a Republican?
This person sounds scared, angry and confused.
I guess blaming obama for his total failure in his first year as President is out of the question...so lets blame Republicans instead.
It also seems she’s from Portland. Too bad Portland is chock full of liberal wackos; Oregon would be a great state otherwise.
Woops...”she” is actually a he!
From the article: However, naming the Republican Party as the most disappointing person in 2009 posed no reflective issues whatsoever and brings the most distaste as a third generation member of the party.
Oh. OK. Thanks.
I didn’t see much pro-Republicanism in his other articles either. Maybe he needs to switch parties.
Seminar writer...
What we used to call a Rockefeller Republican.
And we should embrace Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee and Tim Pawlenty instead, right?
:eyeroll:
The limo liberals want control of both parties and, wouldn’t you know it, those hating American-American masses are getting uppity about it again!

Just who I want to tell me about politics
If you look at his picture, he looks like an ugly woman
LOL! You’re right! Somethng Keeper would cough up!
They can never state “what lies”. The WH advertised its attack on Beck’s “lies” at Whitehouse.gov entitled Reality Check: Turning a Point of Pride into a Moment of Shame.
The only thing they take issue with is that Beck misspoke and referred to the Vancouver rather than the Calgary Olympics. The rest of their attempts to correct things on the Beck show were statements made by Becks guest Pat Caddell - a staunch Democrat! They don’t even touch on the Communists and Marxists in the Administration that Beck has reported on.
They are all pathetic, but extremely dangerous...
