Michael Steele wants Sarah Palin to reorient" the party and grow it. Interesting
(Excerpt) Read more at politico.com ...
I have the courage to put my face out there for all to see.... talk is cheap enough without hiding in the shadows while you dialog.
*My* goal is not to get Sarah elected as President in 2012.
My goal is to “reorient” this country back towards the Constitution and old school Conservative governing. I think that’s Sarah’s goal too.
How she goes about it is yet to be seen, but she has a large base of regular Americans who identify with and support her and want her to represent us in one form or another. She’s definately a born leader, not necessarily a politician. The two don’t have to go together to make an impact on our country and government and produce results.
disclaimer: if she runs for office, she’ll most likely have my vote!
hey... if the shoe fits... Jim robinson doesn’t hide...does he... 95% sounds like liberal speak to me... they like to use percentages to debate their points... especially numbers that can’t be verified.
Really? Let's roll tape...
ME:Can you name one Democrat in congress who votes for the "right things"?
Bob:None...yet... There will be a new wave of candidates because this president has them seeing defeat with deficit spending and a near communist foreign policy.
The subject of your comment and then my question to you was DEMOCRATS that Sarah ws going to compaign for.
My question was not "where will the new party members come from".
Why did you just make that up Bob?
Bob, I’m going to give you the benefit of the doubt and say I think you’re a Conservative, but you really need to study not only political history, but how parties function in other countries vs. ours, and even more modern politics. You’re extremely naive on how things work. Most of us here support Gov. Palin, as you apparently do, but if she goes a 3rd party route, she really IS going to be finished with respect to winning high office. When TR did that in 1912, he was never elected to office again. You may not like it, but we have NO choice but to reform the GOP.
hey... if the shoe fits
Anything you say, Bob.
LOL.... The story... posted here and I copied a snippet for you... maybe you didn't read it... It was Sarah stating parties are not where she's at... man this is like talking to the mad hatter in Alice in Wonderland,,,, She said she would campaign for anyone... a hypothetical "anyone" who she agrees with politically. The gist of the statement in context to our rambling, disjointed conversation... no matter what party.. Democrat or otherwise... All of a sudden this incomprehensible "discussion turns into... Who is a conservative in the Democrat party that she would support? LOL I said the Rats are in trouble in the next election.........etc etc... there will be new Democrats running... some of the old could be thrown out. She could support a democrat... and there could be someone she could campaign for if politically allied with her.
BTW...( That is a paraphrased context...get it?)
You and your buddy on here all of a sudden are analyzing the DRAT party looking for conservatives... do you realize how disjointed your thought processes are?
You are wasting my time. I need to have discussion with someone who has an ability to comprehend and maintain a focus on the premise of the debate.
one last time... Dead parties don’t reconstitute. especially when the Constitution is on life support. Usually a pill is not a cure... Sometimes surgery is the only and last alternative. History? Try the Whigs.... Corruption.. watch the Rat party... Keystone cops? the RepubliCAINS. Your...and your children’s future? Why... just reform a similarly corrupt but completely inept party to save YOUR country for especially your grandchildren... You and your buddy must believe in the tooth fairy.
Earth to Bob, I discussed the Whigs in post #153. That party was built on a foundation of quicksand and lasted a scant 2 decades. The GOP has been around 153 years, it won’t vanish as a national entity immediately just because your mythical 3rd party arrives on the scene. The more you post on this subject, Bob, the more your ignorance is revealed. Nobody in this thread has agreed with your naivete. As for believing in tooth fairies, Bob, you’re the one that believes in a magical, mythical 3rd party that’s purer than the hand of the Good Lord, one which causes the GOP to turn to dust at the moment of its immaculate conception. Give me a break, Bob.
What?
Read the trail of posts. Roll tape...
ME:Can you name one Democrat in congress who votes for the "right things"?
Bob:None...yet... There will be a new wave of candidates because this president has them seeing defeat with deficit spending and a near communist foreign policy.
Me:So then Bob, you think it's possible for a new wave of conservatives to rise up in the Democrat party while at the same time you think that staying in the Republican is like being "a lemming running to the cliff"?
Bob:LOL... The hypothetical democrats I THOUGHT was referring to... quite clearly... in context I thought we were discussing... where will the new party...( I must not say Bull Moose) come from ? some will be Pro Life Democrats shifting to the ... um..shhhh B.M Party
(What?)
Bob:This is quite pathetic... I'm talking about defections from both parties and you're still in a fog commenting on rising up...lol
Bob:there will be new Democrats running... some of the old could be thrown out. She could support a democrat... and there could be someone she could campaign for if politically allied with her.
Bob, my point -- your contradiction -- as best can be understood from your ramblings, remains. I'll add one word in parens since you are so flummoxed and I will repeat it again:
I don't agree with that assessment at all. No big deal, your rude behavior aside.
Yes, in a sense you are right. But every now and then when a seismic event occurs in American politics, like a bill that would fundamentally changes this nation from a free market capitalist economic system to that of a socialist system, you get a chance to see what our legislators are really made of. The rest of the time, it’s just party politics. The voting on the TARP bill exposed the socialists among us, as well as the capitalists. It is often good to remember there were Democrats among they latter group, as well as Republicans among the former.

The first step would have to include Michael Steele himself stepping aside and letting Gov. Palin have her pick of who would head up the RNC and who woould staff it. Until then I don't her taking him on the offer.
Ha! That's not happening.
Nor do I necessarily think it would help. You can't even drop an Oreo cookie at one of his press conferences without being labeled a bigot.
The Dems would howl at the Moon if he stepped down!
The Dems Got a Black Guy so we had to get one too.
Yes, I'm pointing to what looks like an affirmative action appointment.
Let's be clear I am not saying it is!
In fact I will claim to be fairly ignorant about him personally but my posting is to point out perception.(We all know what perception is in politics!)
What I am saying is that it can be and, is perceived by as the truth by many people especially the Libtards.(After all affirmative action is what they do!)
Whether you support him or not, nobody can actually point at the 5000 Lbs. Elephant in the room without being labeled a bigot.
Case in point is when I made my silly crack at the beginning of this thread before I even read the article.(which is stupid thing to do in itself and a lesson learned).
It was not politically correct and was actually intended to be humorous at my own expense but after reading the article I realized it would be a serious thread so I attempted a recant a few posts later but some were still offended.
I like to think that Conservatives have a sense of humor.
Seems like some would rather worry about what libs or RINOs think of us.
I know that I really don't give a rip myself.
Actually, I feel like I just ripped a big one in church!
RepubliCAINS?
As in John McCain?
Meh, not very clever.
“hmmm what is the definition of insanity? “
Refusing to face reality. Like the reality of how political systems work.
