Someone tell VFW-PAC what VFW stands for

...VFW-PAC has decided to endorse Reps. John Murtha (PA-12) and Patrick Murphy (PA-8). VFW-PAC could hardly have chosen two men who disagreed more sharply with the sense and principles of the VFW on this crucial matter.

...VFW-PAC's decision is particularly startling because both Murtha and Murphy are running against long-time veterans who actually share the principles of the VFW.

It seems the National PAC directors select who they support based on a 22 questions they have candidates fill out - NOT on how they vote or what they support or do.

Yup - I got a mailing last week trumpeting the VFW endorsement of Murphy. This is a guy who based his entire campaign in 2006 on surrendering in Iraq! He "promised" to "end the war in six months" if he was elected. Murphy also voted against the FISA terrorist surveillance bill, and he chaired Barack Obama's primary campaign in PA. He's a kid who served a minimum tour in a JAG unit and then campaigned as this hardy Iraq vet who barely escaped death. And he's been nothing but a lapdog for Nancy Pelosi.

Murphy's opponent is Tom Manion, a 32-year ex-Marine and business executive, whose son Travis was killed in Iraq in 2007. The Vets for Freedom endorsed him and have done radio ads for him. If you want to stick it in the eye of the VFW, please send Tom a contribution. www.votemanion.com

Don’t they know the leadership in the dem party rules. Reps are only allowed off the reservation when they don’t need them and it will look good back home. Check out Carney’s Dist 10 last votes. As for VFW, there are a lot of good military supporting organizations. I’ll just move my support to one of them and of course let them know my reason.

I’ll be bringing this up at the next meeting at my Legion Post... How disgracefull! I guess the local VFW trying to “poach” membership from us wasn’t quite as out of character as I thought.
