With everything he’s had thrown his way, it’s absolutely amazing he’s done as well as he has. And he’ll pick up the pace again once this bill is passed. He’s nowhere near the brink of disaster that some are saying. Look at his internals. He’s doing much better than BHO with most demographics.

I don’t think this is anything but the usual fluctuations.

Just saw a REALLY good McCain ad on Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac - showed the Bill Clinton quote (actual footage) from his statement on Good Morning America saying that the Democrats are responsible for the crises.

I am in Washington State.... so clearly, McCain feels he is competitive here.

Also saw an Obama ad for health care.

Its against him due to current economic issues. I feel this will come under control soon. I dont know how he calculated that but its still within our reach. Im going to try to assist with the campaign and make a donation to McCain.

No, if he votes in the affirmative he looses the real conservative vote, ie, the base. Are you referring to the "Pace to Nowhere?"

I agree. Plus I wonder about some kind of poll exhaustion factor. We have been polled so often and for so long on this marathon presidential campaign that it wouldn’t surprise me at all if the results get more and more inaccurate as we get to November just because people are tired of answering prying questions. I know I participated in a few weeks ago but I gave up participating.

We need to back off and check polls once a week or so for real information on trends. Remember, anyone who has tried to stay on a diet is warned against checking the old scale too often to avoid getting discouraged. The only poll that counts is November 4.

McCain has lost the conservatives again.

Sarah brought us to his side.

He ignores us.

He has never respected us.

You know the list of his transgressions but the “gang of 14” has to be at the top.

Sarah cannot save him any more.

good bye, John McCain.

its enough, already.

Do you need a good whack with Gandalf’s white staff? Palantir gazing is not for the faint of heart.

Thankyou for having me and providing me with tons of entertainment. But, alas, I must leave now and return to the land of the living. Good luck on your infecting others with that paralytic doom and gloom disease.

If he loses the base over this, he never had them. And what is the “Pace to Nowhere”?

your fellow Republicans here

wanted Fred Thompson

or Hunter

or Huckabee

anyone, but McCain

ok....Guiliani was never on our list....so what?

Romney maybe, looking at it now, I would trade McCain for Romney. Romney/Palin? I don’t think Romney would have ever picked Palin....but who knows?

To poll doubters out there...

Yes, they are not exactly true, but the trend is clear.

When those phones ring in Conservative homes and the question is asked....who would you vote for if the election were held today?....there is stunned silence on the other end...and then a loud “clik,” and then a dial tone. So they call another house.

"We survived Carter. We survived Clinton. We can survive Obama."

The problem is that with each one of them, things got worse, and you don't ever get clear back. We have lost ground each time, permanently. The Supreme Court will be critical, and Obama will get to appoint, what, three justices? Pretty much right away, too. Leftwing justices have been just waiting to retire. The schools have been progressively dumbed down and turned into leftwing propaganda institutions. We will really see the results of that in this election. Unless something happens in the campaign to change the present dynamic, we are going to lose, and the future looks downright grim to me, right now. I am praying that God will spare this nation from the hate-spitting lefties who wish to re-create it in their evil image.

Seems there’s not one of the existing GOP elites who’s willing to get down in the trenches with the Dems and fight to win, and this lack of fortitude goes way back. For much of the time the GOP controlled both houses of congress and the White House, it was the Democrats who dictated the agenda. This feels like more of the same. Sigh.

I’m in Maryland which should be a done deal for 0 but he’s running ads like crazy and these are coming from a DC station.

What’s going on?

Nobody *ever* campaigns here because it’s always a Dem gimme state.
