Buck-Buck-BARACK! (Is Obama a chicken?)

I'm starting to smell a little roasting chicken. What's the Obamessiah afraid of?

WASHINGTON — Democratic candidate Barack Obama on Saturday backed away from rival John McCain’s challenge for a series of joint appearances before the political conventions, agreeing only to the standard three debates in the fall.

In May, when a McCain adviser proposed a series of pre-convention appearances at town hall meetings, Obama said, “I think that’s a great idea.” In summer stumping on the campaign trail, McCain has often noted that Obama had not followed through and joined him in any events.

On Saturday, in a letter to the Commission on Presidential Debates, Obama campaign manager David Plouffe said the short period between the last political convention and the first proposed debate made it likely that the commission-sponsored debates would be the only ones in the fall.

“We’ve committed to the three debates on the table,” campaign spokeswoman Jen Psaki said Saturday in an interview. “It’s likely they will be the three appearances by the candidates this fall.”

Asked by The Associated Press if that meant Obama would not agree to any other debates, Psaki said, “We’re not saying that.” She said the McCain campaign had rejected Obama’s proposal for two joint town hall meetings. What happened to all those boasts about "meeting John McCain anywhere, anytime"? The town hall meeting that McCain refused was going to be scheduled on July 4th when absolutely nobody would have been watching. McCain was right to refuse it.

Obama's team knows their guy is a disaster off the teleprompter, and he'd get his clock cleaned in a town hall meeting with McCain. It looks like it's time for a new McCain campaign video - possibly featuring a chicken.

But, but...what about that bald face statement regarding debates of "Any time, any place", Barry?

That sure fired up the crowd back then, didn't it?

McCain took you up on it and is proposing 10 more Lincoln-Douglas style debates. What's wrong, Hussein, why not follow through on your challenge..."any time, any place" statement.

Could it be because your actual color is really...yellow?

Give him a break, he is only able to say what is on the prompter.

He’s just proving what people already know - he’s an EMPTY SUIT.

The person ahead in the polls is ALWAYS “afraid” to debate. Debates almost never help the guy that’s ahead, the best they can usually hope for is to maintain, given that history the guy in the lead who isn’t “afraid” to debate is an idiot.

I seem to remember Barry not doing well in the dem debates, each one I though he lost and went down in the polls. Does anyone have any information on that?

Obama: "Any Time, Any Where"...Except There

Obama: I'll debate McCain anywhere, except here, there, and everywhere.
