In my humble opinion, the "experts" have totally missed the essential reason why Obama isn't resonating with the public in terms of the presidential race.
Obama looks like a typical errogant sports figure or Hollywood star (who takes himself far too seriously) traveling around the globe spouting politically correct leftwing platitudes, with the lapdog media in tow. The Media have actually succeeded in their goal, making Obama a "rock star", but to their surprise, I believe, it has shown he is definitely NOT presidential material. It's funny, and ironic, and the talking heads have totally missed this.
McCain looks like a presidential candidate who has wisdom about how to run a war and a country, and deal with the democrats in the House and Senate. He has reasonable ideas about the energy crisis, he is mature enough to change his views on the issue, due to the current high cost of fuel, our obvious and dangerous dependence on foreign oil, and he is in step with the majority of the American people on this.
In addition, McCain has a sense of humor. Unlike the "experts" negative analysis of his TV appearance at a German restaurant (while the globe trotting Obama spoke in Berlin), and McCain's visit to the town of Bethlemem here in the US, (while Obama was over in Israel praying at the great wall), I believe McCain's "strategery" was quite smart.
So, this is the way I see it, and I believe I am right, and the "experts" are wrong, and they may be very surprised come November.
Obama is no rock star. He’s a pop star like Milli Vanilli. A Grammy winning fraud (and YES Obama has won Grammies for his spoken word adaptations of his books).
Actually all forms of federal welfare are unconstitutional according to a guy named James Madison, aka Father of the U.S. Constitution.
Yes he and I think it was Lindsey Graham went to German Village in Columbus for lunch then later the same day to PA.
The Left is still running against Rush and Bush while the Right is running against Obama.
The Left has tried to call McCain Bush’s third (or as Obama put it FOURTH) term. Doesn’t float. McCain is to the Left of the already ‘left of GOP’s conservative base’ GW Bush.
And the big issues that conservatives take issue with McCain over (illegal immigration, global warming,...) the Obama alternative is NO acceptable alternative, it is everything McCain’s position is and more.
That's one of the reasons I have come around to thinking that perhaps it was good for McCain to keep a low profile while Obama had the full spotlight to make a jackass of himself. Let Obama become the issue.
Errogance: Being against the surge even when you see concrete positive results from it.
That's true of any candidate... but especially true of this intellectually blasé, Kabuki politician. Obamas lack of substance and gravitas reflects the truly moribund state of the DNC. They should have contained their effusive thrill of forcing Obama on the country and instead presented him and his views piecemeal to the idiot Left and undecided voters of America. I dont say that would have worked to get him any closer to the WH, but his loss would have been a little more respectable.
That the DNC fielded such an inexperienced, shallow, overtly shameless Marxist with clay feet up to his eyebrows is really pathetic.
Jay Leno did a segment showing a clip of presidential Barry in Berlin with world leaders and then laughing hysterically and saying—I kid you not!—he shows McCain and Lindsey Graham in front of the German restaurant like tourists. He thought it was soooooooo funny but in the end it seemed to have helped McCain.
Excellent!
John Kerry got hoisted on his swiftboat petard when he made his Vietnam service into the centerpiece of his campaign.
Obama may get hoisted on his rock star petard when he made it the centerpiece of his campaign.
And the "We hate Mormons" crowd may even get Mitt Romney nominated as VP when they made religious bigotry the central focus of their efforts. Three months ago, I would have given you 100 to 1 odds against Romney getting nominated due to the bad blood with McCain. Now, I'm convinced that the volume and vitrol of the "We hate Mormons" crowd will drown out Obama's ability to play the race card and thereby make him an attractive selection for McCain. Accordingly, the odds are now 3 to 1.
Maybe it's a neologism created from "error" and "arrogant"? Would certainly seem to fit Obama....

Yep - keep reading down the thread... :-)
For Obama - should be spelled EARogant, lol
Now THAT’s funny!
Nope...people knew the truth about Bill & Hillary for his two terms and still ALMOST nominated her this year. Sadly, people just don’t care about that stuff, that’s not how people vote these days, at least not how young people vote. They vote for the “youthful, energetic, charismatic candidate.” While I don’t agree that B-O is charismatic, he is youthful and energetic.
McCain is to Obama
as
Obi Wan is to Jar Jar Binks
(ugh! did I just say mccain is like obiwan ?!)
LOL!
