So much for the 50 State Strategy, announced just last week. The Obama campaign admits neither FL and OH "was hospitable to Obama this year." Even three states Kerry won (PA, MI, NH) "look competitive" for McCain. Obama will try to pick off VA, NM, and others to make up the difference. Is Obama the underdog in this Year of the Democrat?

He has no shot in Va. Too much military and too many defense contractors. McCain even has higher support in Northern Va than most Republicans. If Obama spends time any money there it’s all for naught, which is fine by me.
Some will riot IMO if Obama wins or loses.
By all rights, given his assocaitions and positions, he should.
I think there are at least twenty states that Obama can write off today...and by August...another eight. Michigan should have been pro-Obama....but they can’t even win that state now. If McCain picks Bloomberg as VP...then Obama can count out NY automatically.
If Obama has already written off OH and FL...then this election isn’t going to be the Obama landslide the MSM thinks it will.
In fact, I predict the opposite. Obama’s going to spend a lot of money defending MI, PA, and WI and probably won’t win those either.
My mother-in-law seems to think McCain has a reasonable shot of winning Massachusetts as well.
Bloomberg might cost the McCainiac the south IMO.
Obama will be writing off Michigan and PA before it’s all said and done...
Michelle is again embarrassed at Americans.
I’m not entirely sure I buy B. Hussein simply “writing off” FL and OH. Hell, the way things are shaping up, he’ll NEED both of them to win it.
He will, however, have to pick off a few states in the South the way every other post-JFK Dim that has won the Presidency in order to have a shot.
Bloomberg is a non starter.
Which are you? Are you going to riot if he loses? Or if he wins?
Read the article and he’s saying Ohio wasn’t hospitable to Obama because Clinton took it. But losing to another Democrat is different from losing to a Republican. Long and short of it is that Obama can’t afford to write off Ohio. He may be able to cobble a win without the state but it will be a whole lot easier with Ohio than without it. I think he’ll fight hard for it.
When hubby loses,we’ll be accused of being racists.Tough!
If Obama is writing off key swing states, then the Dem convention may not be a coronation.
Monkeywrench time: Hillary is the VP! What shall happen then?
Take a look at the southern states in the post-JFK era that were won by Dim candidates that were part of their EC total:
1996—X42/Algore
Arkansas
Louisiana
Florida
Tennessee
Kentucky
(You could also throw in West Virginia if you felt inclined to do so, since they also won in that state)
1992—X42/Algore
Arkansas
Louisiana
Georgia
Tennessee
Kentucky
(also W. Virginia)
1976—Jimmuh/Mondale
Texas
Louisiana
Arkansas
Alabama
Mississippi
Georgia
Florida
Tennessee
North Carolina
South Carolina
(also West Virginia)
1964-LBJ
Somehow this quasi-Texan took 44 states, but Goldwater, aside from winning Arizona won Mississippi, Louisiana, Georgia, Alabama, and South Carolina. So if you’re from these states and you voted for Goldwater, give yourself a pat on the back.
Anyway, my question is: Can B. Hussein the Messiah pick off any of these states that previous Dims that have won the Presidency have? He may have to in order to win...
Dream on. MCcain is not that dumb to pick Boooooberg.
