Another example of character and leadership from Fred Thompson. Where are Rudy, John, Mike, Ron and Duncan on this? I hope they don't condone the ugly practice.

I thought you might find this interesting - it’s like someone is reading my mind...
I will admit, I’m a Sentor Thompson backer. I was one of those who was ridiculed here for saying he should run when everyone thought he was comfortably retired from politics.
This is that attitude, tone, and agenda that the GOP needs. Whether it be Senator Thompson or another, we need a united front and a strong central platform.

Nicely said, Fred. Smut indeed.
Rudy may be exciting to some, but Fred leads.

Someone’s going to be awfully embarrassed when the source of this garbage is exposed.

And that is the tone I saw this morning when I met FDT and his wife and daugher. He looked great.. much better than any pictures or tv appearances I've seen. He is a very engaging speaker, yet I did watch for uh's and ah's and head bobs. There were none. A well delivered speech, without notes, that didn't sound like he was reciting it for the 100th time.
Had a nice visit with Jeri and Hayden (sp?). Talked mainly about kids and how they go and grow up on us too fast. lol
And the Ron Paul folks who chose to attend were, as far as I could see, very well behaved. (well, their signs were obnoxiously large)

I like the speed with which Thompson and his campaign responds when issues like this arise. Considering Mitt blamed McCain/Feingold, it was a hit at both McCain and at him, so his swift response makes his position clear on these tactics. But Mitt is a big boy and the last thing we need is for him to start playing the victim of faith discrimination while Hillary trying to get sympathy on the gender card. It’s wimpy. I hope for better from all of our GOP candidates so the electorate sees a clear difference.

Methinks thou dost protest too much. For weeks now, you have stood by and let anti-Mormon bigotry proliferate on these discussion boards. I called it bigotry, and I suffered insults for calling a spade a spade. Will you now join with me in reporting to the moderators such un-American attacks? John has decried the attacks.

I got a Romney push poll 2 nights ago. Pretended to be a presidential preference survey. When I did not pick Romney, the guy said: “Can I read you a list of Governor Romney’s actions against illegal immigration in Massachusetts?” I just laughed.

From the desk of Todd Harris, communications director to Fred Thompson:
"There is no room for this kind of smut in a Republican primary election. While there are certainly issues our campaigns disagree on, we are united by far more than that which divides us. One of our candidates is going to emerge from this process as the standard bearer for all Republicans, and we will need a united party to win next year. This kind of robo-dial bigotry which tears down Republicans today will only serve to prop up Democrats tomorrow. It has to end and end now."
BUMP!
