The "Granite Status" political column by Senior Political Reporter John DiStaso has learned the latest on Republican Fred Thompson's fledgling New Hampshire campaign.
Expect an announcement soon of a campaign headquarters, which is now up and running at 23 West Webster Street in Manchester, and a campaign staff.
The political director will be veteran conservative activist Chris Wood, a former Rudy Giuliani supporter, while GOP activist Liz Christoffersen is the state campaign coordinator and former Executive Councilor Bill Cahill is senior advisor.
Former state Rep. Dan Hughes is chairman of the state campaign. Former Ambassador Gerald Carmen is also prominently on board.
Read DiStaso's column tomorrow in the New Hampshire Union Leader. An extended version will be posted at UnionLeader.com.

But...but...I was assured Fred had given up on NH because he couldn’t compete. I was given assurances!

Theyll be here...they cant help themselves.Well it sure won't be because you pinged them instead of talking about them behind their backs. Let's hope your candidate isn't as tacky.

So you self-identify as a “gnat” is that it? No one mentioned you (or anyone else) by name, so you must have a guilty conscience, methinks! LOL

Let’s see, a political director, a state campaign coordinator, a senior advisor, a state campaign chairman and a former ambassador who is also prominently on board. Plus a new campaign headquarters and staff.
Sure sounds fledgling to me....
Not to mention the Giuliani supporter who apparently jumped ship.

Wow, a political hack/lobbyist got a bunch of other political hacks/Washington insiders to join his campaign. Anyone remember 1996? As Yogi said, “its deja vu all over again.”

Sorry, there are so many of you gnats to remember. I don’t recall, are you a Hunterite, a Roody-toot or a Mitt-wit?
Okay, I’m guessing you’re a Roody-toot and that you are frustrated that Chris Wood jumped ship.
