Giuliani Notes: Dollars for Rudy (Upcoming Fundraisers for Mayor Rudy Giuliani)
Flapsblog ^ | Jan 27, 2007

January 29, 2007

A Giuliani fund-raiser will be held Jan. 29 in Pacific Palisades, Calif., at the home of Bill Simon, the 2002 Republican candidate for governor of California, costing $2,300 a person and $4,600 per couple.

January 30, 2007:

Mary Bono’s campaign is sponsoring a golf event to raise funds for Giuliani’s committee on Tuesday, at the Rancho Mirage home and golf course of Edra Blixseth, Porcupine Creek Golf Club. Information: (310) 500-4284 or by e-mail at events@marybono.com

February 1, 2007:

Texas Republican contributors are being solicited to spend $30,000 for dinner with former New York City Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani at the Houstonian Hotel in Houston Feb. 1 to finance his “presidential exploratory committee.” The “private” dinner will follow a 6:30 to 8 p.m. cocktail reception, costing $2,100 a person and $4,200 for couples.

The best-known host of Giuliani’s Houston event is billionaire oilman T. Boone Pickens Jr., chairman of the private equity firm BP Capital Management. Also on Giuliani’s Texas fund-raising team are Tom Hicks, whose company owns the Texas Rangers baseball team; oil industry executive Jim Lee; and lawyer Patrick C. Oxford.

There are only two candidates from the GOP who really scare me, Ron Paul and John McCain, and yet I'd vote for either of them over what the Democrats are likely to offer.

My list keeps getting shorter. Brownback? Backstabber. Tancredo? Wamped out on the WOT. THAT is my personal litmus test. Amnesty and pro-life are second. Gun rights are right behind. But I also realize that I won't get all that I want. But if I get very little of what I want, I will have plenty of company - and the GOP needs to give those people a reason to stay home, not a reason to leave. It's kinda like having an abusive wife yelling at you, asking why you never are home.

But if Ron Paul won, I think I might have to leave the country. His idea of national defense is to hire pirates.

Hehehhe.

Presidents have less power to change the laws and affect public policy than we typically ascribe to them. But there's no doubt the President is the Commander-in-Chief.

Presidents have more power than we are used to - Bush, using a veto ONCE in six years, made us forget that he could be a stop sign to a lot of the nonsense we've seen.

Thank you so much for posting all of those polls! It's neat to get the chance to view them all at once like that.

I agree with you that it is early yet. And money - big money - is going to be required. I like anyone who takes votes away from McCain at this point :-)

And on the dem side - I am not so sure that Hillary is invincible :-)

This will be a fascinating year. I do agree with others that it is accelerated now. If CA moves up their date - as well as FL and SC - things will be over in a flash!

Thanks again.

Not at all. Apparently, we strike a raw nerve when we mention abortion, gun control, the homosexual agenda and Giuliani Patners' Bernie Kerik. Let's see how much dirt comes to the surfact within the next year or so.

The veto is very situation-driven. Gerald Ford used it 66 times in his abbreviated term, yet you'd be hard pressed to convince me that he affected policy as much as George Bush has.

I wish he had used it about 10 times so far, but up until now Congress was largely giving him what he wanted or could at least live with.

And you didn't answer my question: Do you think killing innocent babies is a way to win hearts and minds?

For at least the 100th time, he:

CUT TAXES

CUT THE SIZE OF GOBERNEMNGT

CUT SPENDING

REMOVED SET ASIDE FOR MINORITIES AND WOMEN OWNED BUSINESSES

REMOVED OPEN ADMISSION TO CCNY

KEPT ARAFAT FROM MAKING SPEECHES AND WANDERING ALL OVER N.Y.C.

STOOD UP TO A SAUDI PRINCE

STOOD UP AGAINST THE UN

MADE IT EASIER FOR CHARTER SCHOOLS TOP OPEN AND RUN

CUT THE WELFARE ROLLS BY 60-70 PERCENT

THREW A FIT OVER A COW DUNG SMEARED AND FEMALE GENITILIA STREW PAINTING

STOOD SHOULDER TO SHOULDER WITH THE PRESIDENT, ON THE WOT

GONE OUT AND HELPED ANY AND EVERY SINGLE GOP CANDIDATE HE COULD, RAISE MONEY AND GHET OUT THE VOTE

And much more; however, in your wee universe, he never ever did anything at all, that can even remotely be considered to be Conservative, because you refuse to acknowledge what he has actually done.

I am perhaps not as titilated by *dirt* as you are :-)

But I do think the next six months will be enlightening!

What POSITION does Rudy hold unique among the GOP that makes it worth overlooking his baby-killing, gun-grabbing liberalisms?

I thought I'd help you and others out with that very question. I just manually put together the table below. It should be very informative to Republicans and conservatives who haven't yet surrendered their values.

I do not speak for Mr. Guiliani. If he announces his intention to run I am sure he will provide you all the information you require to make a decision about his candidacy. To quote you, the web site "is what it is."

You are welcome...

If Bush had done a Gandolf and said to earmarks "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!", we'd be a lot better off now.

Hey Spiff, how do you feel you are doing so far in saving the country from immorality and preventing abortion nation-wide? :-)

Over one million abortions were performed in New York City while Rudy Giuliani was Mayor.

Oops. Gotta fix that:

OverNearly one million abortions were performed in New York City while Rudy Giuliani was Mayor.

I had never even heard of earmarks until a couple of years ago.

They're not part of the bill that is signed or even voted on.

How they are remotely constitutional is beyond me.

Should I make my reply in H1 format like you did?

Nah, I don't need to. The truth does not need to be in a large font.

Rudy is pro choice.

Pro gun-control

Pro amnesty.

Defied federal law and federal court orders to keep NYC a sanctuary city.

Took guns away from long-term permit holders that never had David Dinkins take away their guns.

Rudy has massive personal baggage that will only feed the Clinton slime machine.

Rudy pushed Bernie Kerik to be head of Homeland Security, and Bernie went down in flames with massive ethical problems, much to the embarassment of President Bush. What other Rudy cronies are waiting out there to blow up in the face of the GOP?

Should I go on?
