What is pathetically sad is that it appears that the illustrious leaders of the Religious Right are genuinely sincere in the above reasoning. Equally sad is the reality that these same evangelical leaders have already proven that they will give Republicans a pass on infinitely important issues such as the dismantlement of constitutional liberty (i.e. the Patriot Act), the sellout of American sovereignty via Draconian "free trade" deals, massive illegal immigration (which sacrifices America's culture and even security), and the wholesale explosion of federal spending. This is accepted, because it is the Republican George W. Bush that has led it. Of course, had it been a Democrat such as Al Gore or John Kerry that was responsible, these same Christian leaders would be out front leading the opposition. [...] not a big baldwin fan, he's right on this one though, in a big way.

Hey, this might be a reason to have Democrats in the office. When Clinton was president the budget got balanced because of Republican scrutiny.

So, let's consider the party of death (abortion), same-sex marriage, higher taxes, bigger government, globalism (read UN taxation and control of the US), embryonic stem cell research (more murder), socialistic controls over the economy (in the name of global warming, or the new term, climate change), public indoctrination centers for children (called, publc schools), income redistribution, elimination of religion from the public square, universal health (so-called) care, institutionalization of children (it takes a Village to raise a child, they say), fleeing from Iraq like they had us do from Viet Nam, and more. The party of Reid, Pelosi, Kerry, Clinton, Obama, Rangel, Murtha, Webb, et al. No thanks!

Ok, I have now read the entire article...he is advocating a new party. Let's be real: GOOD LUCK! It's just not going to happen...as much as I agree that a new party would be a good thing.

American Covenant 1.2 - Click Here to Listen
What You History Books Never Told You!
In this session, Dr. Marshall Foster goes through the Christian World View and compares it with other world views, including Christians who have given up and are simple waiting for the end to come.
Your world view determines how you will govern your life as well as what governments you will deserve, freedom or tyranny. By eliminating a man center world view and replacing it with a Providential View of history your faith will be restore and your life will have meaning. Knowing that God has a master plan, and acting upon it makes your life very important because it is now tied to a plan which has been going on since the beginning of time.

I pretty much agree, but not worried about the Patriot Act, left wing hype IMHO. Heard a minister (Evangelical) telling the "flock" and the RNC, "Don't take us for granted". I do not attend "formal" religion but am religious and have strict views. I agree with him. In essence, if the Blue Dog Dims ever take over their party, and implement AMERICAN views, the GOP will loose their non-corporate voters. "Power" means more to the parties and politicians than votes or America - both parties protect the US only to implement their greedy policies.

>>Some will say that I am exaggerating the subject or trying to oversimplify a complex issue, but I am not. When one blows away the smoke, Christian ministers throughout America have sold their congregations on the notion that the only "spiritual" thing we can do regarding affairs of state is to support the Republican Party-no matter what.<<
I never hear that. I never hear conservatives say you shouldn't consider the alternatives. Its just that most of the time it makes sense to vote for the party and candidate who come closest to representing our issues.
[...]
>>I am already hearing leaders of the Religious Right say that they will support the 2008 GOP presidential nominee, even if he or she is pro-choice and pro-gay marriage. Their argument (try not to laugh): a pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage Republican is not as bad as a pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage Democrat. <<
Party leaders can say that but I don't hear many conservatives saying that either. What I do hear and what concerns me is the people giving up before the primaries start - the people saying support a third party now - if that takes root it pretty well guarantees that the nominee won;t be somebody we like and the third party guy will lose and maybe throw the election.
On election day, vote your conscience. But dont give up before the primaries even start.

A.Pole, This is why I am calling for a seperation of church and state. Where the church will establish a new status by treaty very much like an embassy in a foreign country. Where the church can have a inclave to practice what it preaches. Where US laws do not apply. I have already written a constitution. Have try to get other ministers to sign on, present this to the congregation, with no success so far. If you are other our intrested email me conservativechurches@hotmail.com thru the libary once a week. I am also trying to created a blog. Am waiting for my federal return to buy my own computer, and get set up. Financing is a problem. David

I believe that political posturing is for those who do not communicate with He that instructs us in all things good. We'll always make errors, of course, but the errors are not blameworthy in the eyes of God as long as we've diligently communicated with Him and believe we are doing His will.
How could anyone who communicates with Him, believe its His will to vote to allow the killing of the least of our brethren? We can't because we all know what God commanded.
How could anyone who communicates with Him vote to allow the formal legalization of the evil practice of homosexual marriage? We can't because we all know it is gravely immoral and know full well what God intended for marriage.
Politicians have a moral obligation to speak out against something so opposed to the common good. Even in the realm of natural law there is sufficient evidence to prohibit abortion and homosexuality and the infinite other variations of sexual deviation.
Galatians
6:4. But let every one prove his own work: and so he shall have glory in himself only and not in another.
Opus autem suum probet unusquisque et sic in semet ipso tantum gloriam habebit et non in altero
6:5. For every one shall bear his own burden.
Unusquisque enim onus suum portabit
6:6. And let him that is instructed in the word communicate to him that instructeth him, in all good things.
Communicet autem is qui catecizatur verbum ei qui se catecizat in omnibus bonis
6:7. Be not deceived: God is not mocked.

Well then, what is conscience and how do we take care of, cultivate and employ it?

Republicans are almost always more conservative than their democratic counterparts, and as long as this is so I will generally, with a few exceptions, continue to support them over democrats.
As William Buckley said many times, vote for the most rightward, viable candidate.

Nothing sad about it. When either candidate isn't all that great, pick the lesser of two evils, wise council, I'd say. This notion that it's anything less is utter nonsense.
The most viable rightward candidate (William Buckley) works equally well.
