Call to Arms! Capt. Eric Dickerson, USMC for Indiana's 7th Congressional District
http://www.ericdickersonforcongress.com ^

Posted on 10/26/2006 10:17:33 PM PDT by Sir Hailstone

This is a call to arms for anyone who really cares about their country and wants to help keep the GOP in charge in Congress. I am a volunteer for Capt. Eric Dickerson, USMC (no longer active duty) and after a successful career as a businessman and a VP for Public Relations for General Motors, and then an award winning Buick dealer in Indianapolis he is now wanting to answer the call of his country just like he did many years before when he became joined the United States Marine Corps. He is running for Congress.

The 7th Congressional District of Indiana is long held by moderate to liberal Democrats and its territory is the inner city of Indianapolis. The current congressperson is ultra-extreme-liberal Julia Carson. Among the positions she supports is allowing full term babies that were supposed to be aborted, to die after birth. In 10 years of Congress she has only introduced 43 bills. She blames the GOP for her inability to introduce legislation. However her predecessor, Andy Jacobs, introduced 50 bills in his FINAL TERM under GOP control with Speaker Newt Gingrich.

Eric has a slogan which is word play on the United Negro College Fund slogan - "Because a seat in Congress is a terrible thing to waste!". And what Indiana has endured for the past 10 years is literally "Taxation without Representation".

The mainstream media has ignored this race. They call it a "safe democrat" seat, and the national parties have other races to concern themselves with such as IN-02, IN-08 and IN-09. So we are doing this campaign our way, and we're getting our support from the people. When the GOP candidate goes from 20 points down to 5 points down or 3 points ahead depending upon the pollster, it's not so safe. But the fight is not over. You Marines reading this know the story - your company has 500 Marines and you're surrounded by 5000 enemy troops. You know what a Marine would call that? a fair fight! That's what we're doing. We're just a couple hundred volunteers with about two dozen of us daily "hardcore" volunteers. We have no paid campaign manager. We don't need one we have a Marine Captain leading the charge. We don't have an office. Don't need one the campaign is renting an RV and taking the campaign to the people! But any support given will go to the campaign and will further enhance our victory on November 7th!

There are two blogs which provide coverage of this race: One is a pro-gay site but if you can hold your nose past the gay rhetoric he is very much an Eric Dickerson supporter - Advance Indiana and my own blog of anything right wing political The BOFH Chronicles.

If you're in Indiana we can use your help on Election Day. If you are not able or don't live in Indiana and just want to donate we have a website you can donate through paypal (account not required) at THIS WEBSITE or you can send to P. O. Box 90294, Indianapolis, IN 46290

I'll be around to give updates to the campaign for the next two weeks. If you want more information I've dug up you can visit my blog mentioned above and see the results of some of my research into our pathetic excuse for a congressperson. She must be neutralized! We CANNOT let the liberals take charge. This is our battle, and fighting we are!

HOOAH!

No. He's the auto dealer. But if someone wants to think he's the former Colts player we'll take his vote :-)

From his website:

"Like Colin Powell and others with a military background, I oppose the war in Iraq. American military personnel are being asked to perform a mission they are not trained for. America's armed forces were trained to seek and destroy the enemy and move on. They are not trained to be the world's police officers, nor should they. The United States should NOT cut and run. I think political and military leaders should accelerate training program for Iraqi citizens and soldiers, even training them at bases outside their country. And for every Iraqi soldier trained and deployed, one American soldier should come home. It's that simple. We can not fight someone else's fight. All we can do is to put them in a position to determine their own future.

The other problem I see with the war in Iraq is that it has distracted our nation's leaders from real terrorist threats and our preparedness. Hurricane Katrina pointed this out all too clearly."

He apparently is closer to a Powell Republican, than a Rumsfeld Republican, or Bush, or even McCain, as far as Iraq is concerned.

That's a hell of a lot closer to a reasonable position, than the absolute racist moonbat he'd replace...

Many folks I know in the district are excited at having a real chance to get rid of her....

The Voter ID Law should go a long way to achieving that...

IMO all republican from the state will have a better chance of winning with the voter ID in place. However, I do believe that Carson will be particularly damaged by it's enforcement.

I think the Voter ID Bill will have big positive effects on Chocola in South Bend, Sodrel in the South, but most especially for Dickerson in Indy...

After the stories my Black Republican friends told me about thier voting experiences in 2004, I'm absolutely jumping for joy over this law...

The problem IMO will be having the republican personnel in the precincts. There MUST be volunteers (Judges in particular) in place to enforce the laws. I hope that the precinct committee people have everyone signed up and well trained.

To: scrabblehack

this is NOT the former football player
he is a former GM engineer who opened a Buick dealer in Indy
running against a woman who is only in Congress to get the glorious medical benefits that they are entitled to

his opponent Julia Carson is one of the most inept individuals I have ever witnessed - she may be functionally illiterate and often appears near comatose.

PING

This is a call to arms if you're within Marion County to mobilize and support Eric Dickerson for Indiana's 7th District of Congress.

The GOP is so happy to have Voter ID the inspectors are going to their inspector training next week and it will hit hard on voter ID and what is allowed. There's lots of rhetoric on Left Wing Hate Radio and Left Wing Hate Media that says stuff like military ID's are invalid and such. That is incorrect. An expiration date of "indefinite" in consider valid.

Also picture ID from state universities IU, PU, ISU, BSU are valid. Voters may vote provisionally and bring in an ID at a later time. License branches here are open for extended hours so IDs can be obtained.
