STOP GOING TO ANY GOP OR CANDIDATE FORUM
6 April 2006 | Edcoil

Posted on 04/06/2006 12:31:41 PM PDT by edcoil

Nothing makes an impression like an empty house.

In response to the Congress, both House and Senates planned negotated immigration bill I think every Republican weather we support the candidate at election or not, we should NOT attend any forums or candidates activities or public speeches for the next 60 days.

None, zero, let them speek only to their staff and reporters asking them where their supporters are.

For all intents and purposes, the immigration reform debate has been reduced to both sides bloviating and pontificating. You don't punish Congress after the fact. It's a waste of time. Time is wisely spent shaping and molding opinions DURING the debate.

The debate is over.

Actions have consequences as any REAL Conservative knows.

Funny how you fail to point out to our elected officials that THEIR actions have consequences. Nah, it's always the fault of the base for not accepting betrayal on a key conservative position.

If you active work against Republicans you are allying yourself with the DNC.

Sorry, but we're Americans first and Republicans second. Party toadies like you wouldn't know conservatism if it came down on you like a Monty Python foot.

In that case the Poser is one of Howie Dean's "Virtual Campaigners" no matter how feverish they are in mouthing Conservative Talk Points prior to the fact to establish their Freeper Crediblity.

Ah, so folks have posted for years on FR just to establish a cover for the day when the GOP Senate jumps the shark on immigration.

That makes about as much sense as most of the 9-11 Conspiracy theories I've seen, which makes you a nutbar too.

Actions speak louder then words.

Your actions speak loud and clear that all you want is a flame war. You come into every thread wanting to start one. Well, I'm gonna tell you the truth to your face now. You add NOTHING to the debate here. NOTHING. All you do is demand that people hold party over any core principles and insult anyone with the temerity to call the GOP when they've gone too ar. The Dems have done that for years - put party over principle - and what has it gotten them? NOTHING. For you to demand the same from the GOP base shows you are just as depraved as the Democrats you claim you are saving the GOP from.

You can deny any culpability all you want until you're blue in the face. You do have a say in the matter. That's why elected officials contact information such as e-mail addresses, websites, and phone numbers.

Your advocating waving the White Flag betrays which side you REALLY are on.

You're so busy going into automatic attack mode that you can't even be bothered to read his post:

I think every Republican weather we support the candidate at election or not

He isn't calling to not vote for the GOP. He is calling upon people to send a message to the GOP that they cannot push conservatives further left. That is sane politics. We've tried it your way, jack. All we've gotten is a GOP that keeps sliding leftward.

And I send emails and letters. And we still get this. Quit blaming the base for the fact that Bush and GOP members of the Senate think they can disregard warnings from the base, warnings that have been issued for years now, that any form of amnesty is not acceptable, especially since it was already tried once by a good Republican president and it failed utterly.

Perhaps not. But people who keep mindlessly pulling a level labled (R) regardless of what it stands for may very will kill the country.

The base bears some responsibility, whether they're active or not.

Reagan's immigration reform in 1986 was no different than the current House version (HR 4437). To say that Reagan's version is a failure, speaks volumes.

People can kid themselves all they want. All this plan is doing is actively working to elect Democrats. Surrendering without a fight is still gutless no matter what self serving rational people dream up to excuse their French like behavior. Instead of surrendering all should be at those meeting hammering the Pols for not doing what the people want. Instead this crowd wants to run and hide and concede the battle field to their enemies

All this plan is a "Let us wave the white flag before the battle even starts". How very French of them.

My Congress is Steve King of Iowa. He has done an outstanding job on immigration. His conservative rating is close to 100%. My Senator, Charles Grassley has held the line against any amnesty program.

As are mine - and they are both upstanding guys who deserve our support. On the other hand there are people in this party like McCain, Bush, Guliani, and Allen who will not get my vote.

I do believe that Conservatives should affiliate with the Constitution Party. This doesn't mean that we cannot vote for Republicans when appropriate, but it will send a message to the Rinoweasel wing that they play ball, or they lose power. Tancredo for President

That's a hoot. Partially in the name of not electing Kerry, we voted for Bush in 2004. We did so with the clear caveat that we would not accept amnesty. But Bush and certain members of the GOP seem to believe they can disregard that caveat with impunity. THEY are the ones who actually vote for legislation despite the clear, loud complaints coming from the right. It is THEIR fault 100 percent if they fail to heed those voices.

Reagan's immigration reform in 1986 was no different than the current House version (HR 4437). To say that Reagan's version is a failure, speaks volumes.

That's a good one. Please show where HR 4437 provides for any kind of amnesty.

Goes to conference committee.

You need to let the House know how much you disapprove of the Senates bill so they cannot be reconciled and hopefully nothing done until after the Easter recess.

Of course, another poster noted that that spanish language radio and tv stations are already broadcasting amnesty so there sound you hear is the footsteps of a lot of people herding north.

Sorry, but if the leftward slide of the GOP is not arrested at some point, the GOP will be hard to distinguish from the Democrats.

Instead of surrendering all should be at those meeting hammering the Pols for not doing what the people want.

We've tried that. Didn't work.

Instead this crowd wants to run and hide and concede the battle field to their enemies

No, sometimes you have to make it clear to politicians that they can no longer take your vote for granted - just look at how the Dems treat black voters. I have no desire to be treated the same way by the GOP.

No, you can just tell me in summary where HR 4437 provides for amnesty in any manner that remotely resembles Reagan's immigration reform.

Empty heads are even less convincing and most of the anti-GOP Bush bashing comes from just that.

Almost 3300 Illegals PER DAY are arrested and deported while the Lyin' Numbnuts do all they can to assist the Party of Treason and the Red Queen.
