Last year at this time, many people were heartily sick and tired of hearing about Terri Schiavo.
She is dead now.
In case your memory needs to be refreshed, a mentally disabled woman died before our very eyes, from intentional starvation and dehydration, by legal court orders, despite the vapid attention of all levels of government.
And BTW, I pretty much permanently bankrupted myself 10 years ago, trying to force LEO's in Alamogordo, NM to bring the murderous "widow" of my ex-husband to justice.

Beyond any reasonable doubt, demographics and appearance go a long way toward explaining the grossly excessive coverage of this cased.

The victim is young, blonde, beautiful, and from an affluent family; the alleged primary perp is young, white, handsome, articulate, and from an influential family; the whole drama has been played out on an "island paradise." Had this involved two ordinary looking middle-aged people in New Jersey, then Greta -- and the general public -- would have long since lost interest.
