Raises Over $13.7 Million In The First Month Of 2006
WASHINGTON - RNC Chairman Ken Mehlman today announced that the RNC received over $13.7 million in contributions in January, 2006. Januarys contributions continue the RNCs record-breaking pace in federal funds for a non-presidential election cycle by adding to the $101.5 million raised in 2005. The RNC also reported nearly $39 million cash-on-hand.
Januarys fundraising success continues to build upon the extraordinary level of support the Republican Party has received over the last year, Chairman Ken Mehlman said. The unprecedented dedication to enacting President Bushs agenda, and the commitment to supporting Republican candidates nationwide, is helping provide the resources needed to accomplish our goals in 2006.
In January, 250,535 Americans provided 262,636 contributions to the RNC for an average donation of $52.36.
*Raised $115 mil (101.5 + 13.7), but only has $39 mil on hand.
But NOT to support Chaffee in his primary..
Amen to that. But that's the NRSC's purview.
And just imagine how much more money they would be raising if they hadn't been stabbing their conservative core in the back at every opportunity in the last year.
How the heck did they spend 76 million, this early?
And to think we make fun of Howard Dean....
Hopefully, like I said, on some pre-purchases of air time and get-out-the-vote efforts. But also setting up campaigns, and some gets poured right back into fundraising efforts.
Yeah, right. I've been here about eight years now, and conservatives have been griping since Day One that the GOP is stabbing 'em in the back. They won't "give one more dime to the GOP," and yet record fundraising continues.
Perhaps some of that $76 mil was given to individual candidates.
You don't have to believe the fundraising numbers. I don't care. They have quite a few election successes the past few cycles as well.
Can't speak for all conservatives, but my immediate family has quit donating completely.
We gave to GOP candidates, the RNC, and other GOP causes in total about $7000 in cash during 2004, up from about $5000 a year for the previous 10 or so years.
Plus the three months of full-time Volunteer work I did for the Bush Campaign and our local GOP party organization leading up to the 2004 election.
If things continue the way they are now, they will never get another cent from us, nor another minute of my volunteer time.
Foolish move on your part, but it's America. Just don't complain too much when the Dems take over.
I put a lot of money and effort into electing republicans in the last election cycle as well but it won't happen this time. In fact I'm going to vote against my republican representative next time.
These fools who want to point at past elections as proof of an impending win are counting pretty heavilly on a crystal ball that sees into the past.
As Ann Coulter observed, the success of the Republicans is not because they are well organized and highly competent. It is because liberals are insane.
This fact is not wasted on the money men.
I wish you well as you work on your reading comprehension.
BTW, I really, really believe how much time and money you donated to the GOP last cycle. ROTFL!
Well said.
Real sweet personal attack.
Ping :)
... whines the poster who started out with the "fool" insinuation. Sucks to have your own tactics used against you, huh Sweetie?
