The sanctity of life is a fundamental part of our traditional values, and in the U.S. Senate, I will continue to take a stand for the protection of innocent life at all stages.

Ed Bryant will be a great addition to the United States Senate, but first he must be elected. Presumably, there are Freepers from Tennessee.
Either Ed Bryant or Van Hilleary would make excellent Senate candidates. (Yes, I am bred, born, and raisd in the greatest state in the land of the free.)
His leading 'Rat opponent is Harold Ford Jr. of the incredibly corrput Ford family of Tennessee.
Our real conundrum is who to put up as a viable candidate for governor.
Which of the Republican Senate candidates is expected to win the primary?

I haven't seen any recent polling data at all in the primary. I wish Van would drop out. We have NO candidate to challenge Pharoah Phil for Governor. :-(
Van Hilleary should seek a rematch with Governor Phil Bredesen. Bredesen won by a small margin in 2002, and the state is becoming more Republican every day (Bush won 57% in the state in 2004).
Ed Bryant would make mincemeat out of Harold Ford, Jr. in the Senate, since Bryant would win big in the Memphis suburbs (where Ford might do relatively well against a Republican who didn't used to represent those voters in Congress) and ensure a high conservative turnout statewide (which would also help Hilleary in the gubernatorial race.
Ford, Jr. is a fraud.
A pretend Conservative.
He will get his clock cleaned by any solid GOP candidate because the people of Tennessee like a GOP controlled Seante more than they like Ford, Jr..
Actually, I think that Congressman Ford is a credible candidate. I predict that he'll make a decent showing, though he won't actually win.
Even with a base Democrat vote turnout, he'll get between 35-40%, however I suspect even a fair number of White Democrats will not vote for him.
"I predict that he'll make a decent showing"
You're very right. Ed Bryant is the strongest GOP candidate, due to his name I.D. in the northwestern part of the state on the Kentucky/Arkansas border. This is often the where the swing vote is located.
