I'm trying to write Boxer & Feinstein about their attempt to rewrite history. Anyone have her Senate statement about WMD?
This is what I've got. Stop me if it's too angry. Can't helpt it. I'm disgusted with those fools on the hill.
Enough is enough! Stand up with Americans who believe in our country. Support the war, support the President and quit yelling liar. Four fingers are pointing back at you. You cannot rewrite history, because I REMEMBER!
"Iraq made commitments after the Gulf War to completely dismantle all weapons of mass destruction, and unfortunately, Iraq has not lived up to its agreement." -- Barbara Boxer, November 8, 2002.
"While the distance between the United States and Iraq is great, Saddam Hussein's ability to use his chemical and biological weapons against us is not constrained by geography - it can be accomplished in a number of different ways - which is what makes this threat so real and persuasive. "
-- Dianne Feinstein
[...]
Other countries possess weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missiles. With Saddam, there is one big difference: He has used them. Not once, but repeatedly. Unleashing chemical weapons against Iranian troops during a decade-long war. Not only against soldiers, but against civilians, firing Scud missiles at the citizens of Israel, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Iran. And not only against a foreign enemy, but even against his own people, gassing Kurdish civilians in Northern Iraq.
The international community had little doubt then, and I have no doubt today, that left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will use these terrible weapons again.
[...]
This situation presents a clear and present danger to the stability of the Persian Gulf and the safety of people everywhere. The international community gave Saddam one last chance to resume cooperation with the weapons inspectors. Saddam has failed to seize the chance.
And so we had to act and act now.
[...]
First, without a strong inspection system, Iraq would be free to retain and begin to rebuild its chemical, biological and nuclear weapons programs in months, not years.
Second, if Saddam can crippled the weapons inspection system and get away with it, he would conclude that the international community -- led by the United States -- has simply lost its will. He will surmise that he has free rein to rebuild his arsenal of destruction, and someday -- make no mistake -- he will use it again as he has in the past.
[...]
The credible threat to use force, and when necessary, the actual use of force, is the surest way to contain Saddam's weapons of mass destruction program, curtail his aggression and prevent another Gulf War.
[...]
The hard fact is that so long as Saddam remains in power, he threatens the well-being of his people, the peace of his region, the security of the world.
[...]
And mark my words, he will develop weapons of mass destruction. He will deploy them, and he will use them.
--Bill Clinton
I'm going to burst a vein. The hypocricy and stupidity is beyond understanding. This a fight for civilization..., for our way of life. Why can't they see the obvious?
Even if you slapped me, I wouldn't get over it. But, thx for the info.
This is off topic, but worth repeating:
"Chief Justice Rehnquist recently said that `[t]he Senate is surely under no obligation to confirm any particular nominee, but after the necessary time for inquiry it should vote him up or vote him down.' . . . Our institutional integrity requires an up-or-down vote."
145 Cong. Rec. S11875-76 (Oct. 4, 1999) (statement of Sen. Feinstein).
You're right. I will add this Clinton quote.
[...Other countries possess weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missiles. [...Our institutional integrity requires an up-or-down vote."...]
Feinstein said that? So she doesn't always drink the Koolaid. Fools on the hill!
I don't recall the comments about WMD, but they being Democrats, it might be that they knew that he had them and there must be someway that we could apply a tax on Sadams administration.
