In light of debate loss, Kilgore adopts front-runner strategy
by Jeffy Schapiro
Republican Jerry Kilgore's much-maligned performance this past Tuesday in the gubernatorial debate with Democrat Tim Kaine is a reminder that, in politics, fortunes shift very quickly.

What debate loss Jeffy?

"We set out to lynch him, and danged if he didn't look dead."

We had a youngish female (college student maybe) come to the door peddling Kaine paraphernalia. I took it in my hand, looked at it, handed it back, and said, "No thanks." She asked if we "like Mr. Warner." Not Governor Warner. She said, "Mr. Warner." I said, "No, we don't like him. She said, "Thank you for your time." It's too bad I was very busy at the time. I had children buzzing all around, going to and fro. She really would not have liked me if I had been in a foul mood.
