Franken Says Iowa May Decide Election By Joseph Taranto. Posted 10/19/2004 1:06:00 PM

Iowa may be the deciding factor in the 2004 presidential election, said liberal author Al Franken on Saturday night.

Franken, along with John Kerry’s daughter Vanessa, headlined a Democratic fundraiser in Iowa in which he declared that “it may be won right here in Iowa.”

In between the typical Bush bashing, including calling him a “child president,” Franken said the election basically comes down to “who wants it more.”

Vanessa Kerry also took questions and dodged a question about Michael Moore’s influence on the election by simply saying “This campaign has been about my father and Senator (John) Edwards' hope to give Americans what they deserve.”

She also criticized the Bush campaign’s attempt to “assassinate the character” of her father, and pointed to their inability to defend their decisions.

Franken was one of the first personalities to join Air America, a liberal talk radio station with his show, “The O’Franken Factor.”

According to today’s New York Post, he may also have links to “arch-nemesis” Bill O’Reilly’s sexual harassment case.

Iowa is still a dead-heat in the polls. According to an October 12th American Research Group poll, Bush and Kerry are tied at 47 percent each.

Al Franken=Liberal Idiot

Al Franken feeds off of what ever the other two idiots that are in the booth with him throw out, he makes his quick sound bite comment and then shuts up.

Al Franken cannot debate an issue. He has no clue how too. He thinks politics is based on what can get people to laugh.

Al Franken=loser

Iowa? I know it is a close battleground state but it seems to me that everyone other than Franken has recognized that it likely comes down to Pennsylvania, Ohio and Florida.

Franken is right. Iowa gave us John Kerry as the Dem nominee. Short of Kucinich and Sharpton, Kerry was the worst choice the Dems could make and the easiest one of the field for Bush to beat.

Yikes - please leave me off your Christmas list:)

Since when did Franken become an official Kerry campaign staffer. Sounds like he is going wherever they tell him to go. I havn't heard the novel idea of Iowa being the deciding battleground state. That's hilarious to picture Franken in Iowa. He's probably searching everywhere to find a good falafel place and a copy of the ny Times. Definatly a fish out of water.

It finally came to me...Kerry and Franken look like Count Chocula and Frankenberry from the kids cereal box from some years back.

Every EV counts and I sure wouldn't mind winning IA, even if it's "only" 7 EVs.

GOTV and "two in two!"
