Kerry Says Bush Should Have Transferred Authority Over Iraq to the UN After Baghdad Fell
(Excerpt of Transcript: Debate #1) - GoGov.com

LEHRER: Forty seconds, Senator.

KERRY: The United Nations, Kofi Annan offered help after Baghdad fell. And we never picked him up on that and did what was necessary to transfer authority and to transfer reconstruction. It was always American-run.

Secondly, when we went in, there were three countries: Great Britain, Australia and the United States. That's not a grand coalition. We can do better.

LEHRER: Thirty seconds, Mr. President.

BUSH: Well, actually, he forgot Poland. And now there's 30 nations involved, standing side by side with our American troops.

And I honor their sacrifices. And I don't appreciate it when candidate for president denigrates the contributions of these brave soldiers.

You cannot lead the world if you do not honor the contributions of those who are with us. He called them coerced and the bribed. That's not how you bring people together.

Our coalition is strong. It will remain strong, so long as I'm the president.

This was the most undercovered and most significant remark kerry made in the first debate.

I don't know what is wrong with Bush's people. They should have used this, especially when it was being said after the first debate that Bush had done such a bad job.

I really think the media people at Bush HQ are not up to the task.

As the old saying goes "If you want things done right, do it yourself". As we all know the UN is a complete failure, not deserving of our money or support.

And what would Senator Kerry have done about Iraq after the UN pulled out mere months later?!

The UN flag at full mast just after last month´s devastating truck bomb attack

The United Nations has begun to pull its remaining international staff out of Iraq, after yet another attack on its offices in Baghdad. The UN transferred most of its international staff to Amman in Jordan after a deadly suicide attack last month killed 22 people, including chief envoy Sergio Viera de Mello.

Of course Kofi offered to HELP us. He was up to his crows feet in the Oil For Food scandal and was losing MONEY!

It must be time for me to get some sleep. Kerry's comments are getting me riled up even more than usual tonight... and you are right. Kerry is a nut. A very dangerous one.

Election doubt as UN staff ask to pull out
By Kim Sengupta in Baghdad
08 October 2004

Fresh doubts were raised over the feasibility of holding elections in Iraq yesterday with reports that the already minuscule United Nations team there wants to pull out because of the dangerous security situation.

Let's see the UN that had its leadership compromised by Oil for food money personally doled out by Sadam Hussane and the UN that was not willing to enforce sanctions should have had the US turn Iraqu over to the UN before Sadam Husane was captured............

Hmmmmmm.....what is wrong with this concept? Oh yeah the corrupt UN leadership, the corrupt security council members in Sadam's pocket should have provided stewardship....Nah.....

Kerry is full of it.

How about if we just turned it over to the Haitians. They'd do just as good a job and at least we'd know going in there was definitely going to be corruption.

IS KERRY stupid or dangerous lier only trying to catch voices for elections?
I think both!
It's well known that UN is ineffective every where and the best support of terrorism and tyranny!

And who the F*CK does Kerry think did all the fighting, dying, and bleeding to make sure Baghdad did fall? The UN?

Yeah, right, we and our real allies die, and then the UN comes in to re-institute their "oil for food" program, or whatever their next scam is. Kofi Annan should be tried and punished.

This is not Kerry stupidity (well, actually it is but he does not think so). He is one of those the think the UN can do things better. There is a movement out there that loves the UN and things it is the only hope for the world.

It follows along the lines of the International Working Mens Association that tried to keep the world out of WWII on the premise that if no one agreed to go, there would be no war.

Of course, Hitler and his youth had different ideas.
