On another part of the website,

http://www.surveyusa.com/2004_Elections/AR040928ar2ndcd.pdf.
It shows Snyder leading Parks by 54% to 37%.

"It shows Snyder leading Parks by 54% to 37%."

Oh, I see. Thanks.

Not very comforting result for Parks. Snyder's already at 54%, so it's not just the undecideds he has to convince. Parks needs President Bush to pay a visit to Little Rock and tell the voters what Vic Snyder has been up to in Washington. Snyder has the most liberal voting record of anyone representing a white-majority Southern district, and his district voted for Bush in 2000 to boot!

Was there ever any question that Bush would lose Arkansas to Kerry?

Kerry was running close in Arkansas for a while. The state's rural areas are poorer and its cities more less conservative than in other southern states.

Arkansas is a strange bird. It's not really a true Southern state, in my opinion, if you're comparing it to Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, etc. Much of Little Rock and the "environmental" Northwest Ark. corner is enormously liberal and the Democrats still wield lots of power. The rural white southerners who tend to vote Republican just don't have the numbers to gain control over the political scene.

Where in the would did you get your info? Northwest Arkansas is a Republican strong hold, and has been for years.

There has never been any question that Bush will carry Arkansas.
