CONSERVATIVE ALERT: Help Stop MOVE-ON.ORG!

ISSUE: Remember the "Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act", otherwise known as "McCain-Feingold", that was pushed so hard by Democrats, until it finally passed and was signed into law?

The whole purpose of this law, as Sen. John Kerry (D-MA) said, was "to eliminate altogether the capacity of soft money to play the role that it does in our politics."

That's right, with campaign reform now passed into law, we no longer have that dirty unlimited "soft money" to corrupt campaigns, especially presidential campaigns. The Democrats saved the day! Right?

Well... not exactly.

In fact, the DEMOCRATS and their affiliated liberal groups (like MoveOn.org) are now finding ways to deliberately BREAK their own campaign finance reform laws... unless WE take action NOW to stop them.

What they've done is to create a number of so- called "527" organizations, shorthand for the provision of the tax law that covers their activities and allows them to operate under less stringent disclosure regulations. These liberal "527s" -- like the "MoveOn.org Voter Fund" -- are now operating ILLEGALLY because they accept soft money from corporations and unions, which represents an evasion of the ban on large, unregulated contributions in the new campaign finance law.

527s like MoveOn.org can't contribute directly to candidates, but they can do something just as effective -- buy attack ads. And there's no limit to what donors can give -- unlike the $2,000 individual limit to candidates. One person can write a check for millions for these groups and help pay for negative ads.

That's all well and good... except the new campaign finance law was written to STOP such activities from "corrupting the political process", and groups like MoveOn.org are VIOLATING that law.

It's time to take action NOW to stop the lawbreakers.

ACTION ITEM: Political parties, such as the Republican National Committee, are no longer allowed to use soft money for campaigning; but MoveOn.org is accepting large soft money contributions from a number of wealthy donors, including billionaire financier George Soros and film producer Steven Bing, in its quest to push a far-left agenda and defeat President Bush.

The FEC will hold a public hearing on April 14 & 15. Written comments are due by April 9. The FEC plans to make its final decision on these proposed rules by mid-May and they could go into effect as early as July.

MoveOn.org is now trying to use scare tactics to get people to make public comments to the Federal Elections Commission on their proposed crackdown on 527 organizations; the liberal group is claiming that the new FEC rules clarifications would "gag" ALL nonprofit organizations trying to engage in ANY political discourse.

It's simply not true -- MoveOn.org just wants to make sure THEY can continue to blatantly violate the laws that their liberal friends in Congress passed in order to gag conservative groups!

Don't let them get away with it! Go to our site below NOW to send a message to the FEC, with copies sent to your Congressman and Senators, urging them to put a stop to 527 groups like MoveOn.org blatantly circumventing the new campaign finance laws:

NOTE: Be sure to forward this e-mail to everyone you know who wants to put a STOP to the illegal campaign practices of radical left-wing groups like MoveOn.org. Thank you!

This makes me mad. These bozos can do this yet stop the NRA from doing informing the electorate on RAT gun control schemes. Watch 'em crow about how virginal and innocent they are in the conspiracy to steal an election through outright lies and deceit.

But what can we do about it? Just getting angry won't help us a lot; despite what the Demonrats think, campaigns aren't won on sheer hatred alone.

So here's what we need to do, I think. Every time one of us sees any kind of law being broken, we need to report it and/or file a lawsuit (I'm not a law student, so I'm not sure what the proper legal thing to do is.)

Second, we need to get the facts out, both in legal advertising of our own and by word of mouth. Take every chance one gets to talk about the election.

Finally, keep a sharp eye out for voter fraud. There have already been some good suggestions in other threads to counter that, but we also need people to CARRY OUT those suggestions, especially in the battleground states.

I think the Democraps had already planned how they were going to get around this law before it was even passed! It was a huge(I hate this word!)conspiracy. The only person who came off looking like an ass was McCain! I'm sending my Email to the FEC right now.

Thanks for the link!

If you use the link above and send Emails, they may not read each one, but they are impressed by the sheer numbers. If enough people send mail and talk it up, someone is going to listen!

Done. Now I just have to figure out where Kerry is campaigning next in St. Louis and heckle him mercilessly. I hope he hasn't left yet!

Someone needs to look into the following. A couple of months ago, MoveOn.Org members working at *NASA AMES RESEARCH CENTER* were using goverment owned IT resources to send email blasts asking for support. I strongly suspect that this was also going on at a number of other government agencies. If any of you have contacts who could investigate this, it might hit pay dirt in a big way.
