It's interesting (at least I think) to categorize each of the 50 states into groups. These groups being how each state is divided politically between the two major parties.

The first group is comprised of Republican-only states. All of these states have Republican governors, and are represented in Congress exclusively by Republicans; and finally, all of these states voted for George W. Bush in the 2000 general election.

The next group is comprised of Republican-dominated states. In each of these states, the governor, both senators, and a strong majority of congressmen are Republicans. Also, each of these states voted for George W. Bush in the 2000 general election.

* Georgia is included, even though it has a Democrat Senator (Zell Miller), because of that senator's more traditionally Republican voting record, and the extremely strong likelihood of a Republican being elected as Senator in 2004 following Miller's retiring.
