Oh - you were posting about the EE TTT? and would they be the ones likely to show the triple feature then too?

One thing that jumped off the screen right away: Howard Shore’s terrific score seems even better used in “Return.”

I hope so. I found the score in the previous two flicks to be a bit too low key. I'm thinking the third film needs some heroic sounding music along of the lines of "Les Preludes."

I think the green light is the Witch King's signal to Barad Dur that he has left to go to war.

Hmmmm..... I suppose it is my duty to at least ~try~ to get tickets to that.

I almost wish the marathon was ~after~ the initial premier... for a showing later in the run. So I am not exhausted from trip and six hours of sitting on premier night.

Well, it might be 3hrs 30mins. But I wouldn't put the house on it. It might be a little shorter, it might be a lot shorter. I think about 3hrs 15mins seems right to me.

Exhausting indeed! Not only in terms of the amount of screentime, but ROTK is going to be pretty emotional in its own right. People will be coming out like zombies!

'xactly.... I almost hope I don't get tickets... And if they run it at the Cinerama like they did before.... I won't be able to... they cancelled internet sales and you had to buy them at the box office within about a two hour window. I live over an hour from there and don't see myself camping out up there.

Will prolly watch the two EE's at home while getting ready for the midnight show here close to home...

I think the green light is the Witch King's signal to Barad Dur that he has left to go to war.

Hmmm...I didn't think about that.

But it doesn't explain the two gargoyle-like statues on either side of the entranceway. I was under the impression that those were the Watchers. Could they be just the standard "decorations" of Minas Morgul?

Sounds like a good plan. But still...you might regret not going...

At least you have lots of time to think it over....or rather, until the 9th when the tickets go on sale. They'll be snapped up pretty quickly!

Yes, the path not taken.... I would love to be part of the spectacle of it. I will make an effort.... but being far away, I don't like my chances.

The show I will not want to miss is in July next year... Shore is coming here to conduct the Seattle Symphony to LoTR.... THAT will be neat.

Hmmmmm, I never considered the watchers 'till now. I always thought it was that this summary of the chapter calls:

...Then lightning erupts from the roatating Morgul-spire, and the great cry of the ever-dying Lord of the Ring-wraiths issues from the stony maw of the city gate. The War of the Ring at last begins...
