i was contacted by foxnews to be on at 12:30pm tomorrow to discuss the rush situation.

i know what to say about the espn situation but the drug one is the one that hit me hard.

this is a very sad day! i hope rush tells us something, anything soon; so that i can know what angle to use in defence of him.

one thing is for sure, if this is true, this will make his haters very very happy. they have been looking for something to bring him down with!

oh well i am hoping rush says IT AINT SO but if is, we should support him in getting the help he needs, not discard him over one bad deed.

Don't feel bad. If she had gone on some program and mentioned she was a Freeper, and her past reputation was revealed it could have reflected badly on this forum.

I can just see it now, a friend says,"I just saw a representitive of your forum on TV and then I heard she is 'this, that, and the other thing'. What KIND of forum is it?"!!!

I was in Las Vegas last weekend and a woman asked me about politics. I tried to defer saying that when I go to see a band I try to enjoy the music and put everything happening outside out of my mind. I did eventually talk to her briefly and learned that she is a conservative living in southern California feeling very much like there are no other conservatives around her (actually she acknowledged that an Asian man with her group is conservative as well).

I gave her the FR website address and my handle. I know that some people can appear brash at times so I told her to let me know when she joined up if anyone tried to call her a "troll". She saw the website name and wasn't quite sure what it was all about (although she listens to Laura Ingram at times and Laura is familiar with FReepers).

I also advised her to just look around awhile before posting just to get up to speed with the site.

I agree that there are people who don't know what Free Republic is about and some things could be more offputting than positive.

It's true, just look at some of the other websites, you read through their threads and it boggles your mind to realize people think like that! Birds of a feather, and all that.

Her record, from the links, was so bad that I wouldn't want her representing me. I have the vague unease, that IF she were trying to change her life, we put roadblocks in her way, but JimRob HAS to protect his site!

Yeah, you're right. Lynch, the Kobe Bryant alleged victim, and this case. There seems to be a lot of jealousy and long-term frustrations being displayed toward young women perceived to be attractive here. I can understand the Free Republic management being concerned about members past and other activities, but the mob mentality by everyone else is disturbing and it reminds me of the other cases I just mentioned. Irrational attacks and piling on.
