i will be on foxnews at 12:30pm

Posted on 10/02/2003 4:48:37 PM PDT by WillowyDame

i was contacted by foxnews to be on at 12:30pm tomorrow to discuss the rush situation.

i know what to say about the espn situation but the drug one is the one that hit me hard.

this is a very sad day! i hope rush tells us something, anything soon; so that i can know what angle to use in defence of him.

one thing is for sure, if this is true, this will make his haters very very happy. they have been looking for something to bring him down with!

oh well i am hoping rush says IT AINT SO but if is, we should support him in getting the help he needs, not discard him over one bad deed.

we all make very poor choices sometimes..you just have to be willing to make changes and become a better person.

I'm not jealous of a lesbian MADAME, who launders money, has TWO criminal convictions, in TWO different states, and thinks Howard Stern is " god " and even funny.

Her race doen't matter a whit; however, her criminality does.

I agree with you. This woman's history makes her unfit for leadership among politically astute and morally aware partisans, which I think is an apt description of most Freepers.

That doesn't make her a bad person, or necessarily make those who choose not to "rally around" her morally superior. It just means that her baggage makes her unfit for a leadership role.

If she can find people who want to follow her, fine. But she shouldn't be allowed to search for them on Jim Robinson's nickel.

Dead,

There are times when I think nothing will surprise me.  For the most part, that's been true.

When I came to comprehend who this was posting and visiting her site, I approached deer in the headlight stage.

How odd!  How extraordinary!

It's unfortunate that she has been banned.  I would have like to have explored her posts going forward.

Howard Stern, a uniter, not a divider!

I don't watch the networks either. All of the networks will cover it. I think the Weather Channel started today, but they had some weather come in.

We did make the Today show, on July 3rd, but I didn't see it. It was something with Katie & Matt just watching as we were inflated. Apparently, Katie said something about not knowing that balloons came in different shapes or something. Since I didn't see it, I don't even know how it looked.

Now that sucks. I wish that wouldn't have happened. I never reported her to a moderator or complained about her, I just wanted everyone to know who she was.

I feel bad now.

I feel bad also. I didn't make a move to get her banned, and I certainly hope I didn't come across as being judgmental, that was absolutely not my endeavor here.

It was obvious that "WillowyDame"'s number one aim was not conservative activism, at least to me. And at first it was funny that it apparently wasn't that apparent to other FReepers.

FReeper "Fuzz" did a little search work and came up with "the rest of the story". Fuzz was then lambasted for it. I FReepmailed Fuzz to commend the detecting work (and vindication! heh heh heh), but then thought that my defense of his/her actions should be public.

I didn't encourage the illumination of "WMD" due to any malice or jealousy. There are, however, many single, lonely, male FReepers that I felt should know what they were dealing with (potentially) lest they get sucked into what could end up being an expensive trap.

Uzo is free to be who she wishes to be, and when I say I admire her entrepreneurial spirit I'm probably not being taken as seriously as I should be.

However, the whole thing just seemed like too much fodder for DUmmy-types to let it go on without having forum members proving that they're not totally suckers.

I didn't want her banned, but I did click on her name every once in a while to see if she had been. After what FR has gone through with certain "ladies" I'll admit I totally expected it.

I've been a member since 1998. I went through WillowyDame FreeRepublic posts (100s) since 9/5/2003. I didn't see her say anything that deserved being banned. Every question as to why she was banned is pulled (probably this one as well). If I don't have an explanation by the end of the day then I'm not going be a member here anymore either. It had better not be because *some* people didn't like her past.

According to her profile page, she supports Republicans because Republicans love this country more than Democrats. She attended rallies for Republicans. If her aim was other endeavors, she sure was going through a lot of trouble. It seemed to me she was separating her other site stuff from her political activism, she didn't bring her other activities to this site. I didn't see anything she was doing as being currently illegal. She speaks as you wouldn't speak but there are different kinds of conservatives. We have fiscal conservatives, puritan conservatives, libertarian conservatives, and patriotic conservatives. She was a combination of a libertarian conservative and patriotic conservative it seems to me.

And at first it was funny that it apparently wasn't that apparent to other FReepers.

How do you know that's what she was here for. Is that what she was doing at the rallies she was at also? It doesn't look like it. It looks like she was just holding signs and attending dinners.

FReeper "Fuzz" did a little search work and came up with "the rest of the story". Fuzz was then lambasted for it. I FReepmailed Fuzz to commend the detecting work (and vindication! heh heh heh), but then thought that my defense of his/her actions should be public.

Fuzz brought up stuff from years ago. I didn't say anything to him by the way, he can do as he wishes, but bringing up someone's past when they haven't done anything in the present to warrant it is not something I would do.

I didn't encourage the illumination of "WMD" due to any malice or jealousy. There are, however, many single, lonely, male FReepers that I felt should know what they were dealing with (potentially) lest they get sucked into what could end up being an expensive trap.

Man, what would they do if they didn't have you guys to protect them? lol

Uzo is free to be who she wishes to be, and when I say I admire her entrepreneurial spirit I'm probably not being taken as seriously as I should be. However, the whole thing just seemed like too much fodder for DUmmy-types to let it go on without having forum members proving that they're not totally suckers.

So we turn away people because we're afraid of what DUmmies will think? I've always tried to be one that doesn't let others decide who are my friends. I go on personal merit. Unless she lied about Fox News, I haven't seen her try to deceive anyone, she's was honest about who she was and what she did on the other site she ran. I think that makes her less dangerous than a faker. It goes to the old question: Who's more likely to go to hell, a prostitute who's honest about who they are, or the preacher in the church who uses the church to rip people off from their money more than to teach? (I'm not saying she's a prostitute, just using the prostitute as an example just like I used the preacher as an example) And if you're worried about those who are embarrasing, we have much worse. We have some neo-Confederates that think that blacks were better off as slaves. We have some weed-worshippers who have said they would beat their children if their children ever said anything about their illegal drug habit to anyone. There's illegalities there so you just can't say you were afraid she was engaged in illegalities, we have those that have openly admitted it.

I didn't want her banned, but I did click on her name every once in a while to see if she had been. After what FR has gone through with certain "ladies" I'll admit I totally expected it.

So we ban people who we think may cause trouble before they actually cause trouble? I have no problem with the moderators associating with those they wish to associate with on their private property, which is what this site is. I look at it as if I were at a party a friend's house and the host decided to kick someone out. If I thought that the person who was being kicked out didn't deserve to be kicked out, I'd say something tactfully just to put in a good word in for that person. That's all I'm doing. I can see their side.

In all fairness, and a little bit of a defense of myself too, it's not just her past as a madam that caused me to bring up her past. First and foremost it was her propensity to latch on to media celebrities like Stern and now Limbaugh and O'Reilly in a strange obsessive way, like calling Stern 'God'. She wasn't part of Stern's 'whack pack' for nothing. I hope she's fine and I wish she wouldn't have been banned.

Me, neither. I did see a petty source of amusement (come on... her profile page was a HOOT[ers?] ;^) and, mea culpa, I went public with my mirth.

For that, Uzo and all, I apologize.

We can find numerous faults in WillowyDame -- however you cannot deny that her 100s of posts in the last month were harmless and as conservative as anyone else here.

Was she banned for being a lesbian? Being outspoken against homosexuality I've got in to many arguments with freepers that were homosexual.

Was she banned for being black? No. Banned for liking Stern or Metallica? I remember being attacked because I was down on Stern during Columbine.

Was she banned for her obsessions? First its a theory and second I doubt she's alone. How many Malkin pictures have been posted on this site?

Was she banned for her criminal past? Seriously -- how many freepers are there? You cannot tell me that a good percentage of them don't have criminal histories. Should they all be banned?

What was she banned for? Was she banned or did she leave on her own? If she left on her own why are so many threads asking what happened to her deleted?

I don't buy the excuse that this is private property and that anyone can be tossed at will if they offend the admins. People spend years on this board and contribute their money to it. This board has national exposure and has been mentioned on many cable and radio programs. It has a responsibility to be honest with its members especially those that have spent many many years advocating it.

I'm getting tired of the propensity of some people to shut down any dissenting voice and then shut down anyone that comes asking why. I don't mind dummies being shut out since they disrupt the board; but show me where WillowyDame was a disruptor. Just answer the questions and stop hiding behind the DELETE THREAD feature. We all get on to people that refuse to be honest with their followers and the Admins need to be held to the same accountability. If a mistake was made then it should be fixed not swept under the rug.

I'm not sure why you're still posting to me on this as I have apologized for being low-brow and laughing at Uzo's profile page and I have stated (honestly) that I neither pinged abuse or a mod or anyone to the thread. If you're going to reply to me then please at least acknowledge that you have read and understood my posts to you.

I. Repent. Okay?

That said...

Exactly. Fuzz was being honest, although I didn't need research to know something was odd. One click and WYSIWYG.

Because of the national exposure, and the reality that CamPain '04 has begun, I knew that she would be banned, whether I agreed with it or not.

With the increase in recognition we get I guess we have to weed out those that don't fit well enough into the mold whether or not they're being an overbearing nuisance or breaking the rules. It's as if we're running for office, some seem to be saying. I'd think everyone would realize that being an internet discussion site we're going to have a diverse spectrum of conservative points of view with so many members and not worry too much about what liberals say about us. This week has everyone paranoid I think, even though the massive liberal smear campaign has apparently backfired. I mean if the liberals really want to find some of us to smear in the newspapers in order to disparage us, I don't think they would have too much trouble even though not all skeletons are outside of the closet like WillowyDame's was. The reason why they don't is that no one really cares about 1 out of 20,000 of us.

I'll take any ally I can get to fight against the liberal's efforts against freedom as long as they aren't ant-American or significantly dishonest.
