The only real reason I held out is that I'd have to go down to the basement and flip all the little "thingys" over to heat in the ventilation system. Well, that and the fact that I think it'll warm up by the weekend. Of course until then, I'm in sweats in the evening. I have a waterbed, so I'm toasty warm once I'm there! Of course, I have to fight the cat for space.

The NY Post's Cindy Adams outdid herself on this "gossip" item:
[Phillipine President Arroyo was attending the Broadway play "Nine" and it had been arranged for Cindy to get a quote from her afterwards.] "But I couldn't. Because the enormous behind and ego and mouth of Richard Holbooke, who was once ambassador and whose huge career like his huge rear is behind him, physically blocked me. 'You just wait a minute,' he said for no reason other than to act important like he once was and/or keep a working reporter from doing her job. Everyone who saw talked about his boorishness not just me."
Priceless....LOL!

I am also holding out on turning on my furnace. Last year I held out until November.
I did break down and close the windows. Something I rarely do. I love to sleep with it super cold.
