GOOD A.M. TO ONE AND ALL OUT IN THIS WONDERFUL NEIGHBOTHOOD OF ATRW FROM THE MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST, USA!!!!
Did a 4 1/2 mile walk today, going for 6 miles next week IF my joints stop hurting, old age I guess. Its so peaceful walking the sands on the beach, waters edge, the waves laping up on the sand, its just that sound that keeps you going.
Huffington, sheesh, wonder why they let this blabber mouth on the debate. I can see why hubby left, this ole gal can out talk a radio. She is in this for one thing, to sell her articles and possibly a book or two. This fellow won't be buying anything she writes for sure.
I heard the other day the reporter from MSNBC in Iraq say the american public is not getting the true picture of what is going on for the good in Iraq. He said it just a bunch of reporters working to get some kind of award for reporting and the worse it is the better it is for them.
I got a solution to the UN and its members who are against us. CUT THE MONEY GOING TO THEIR COUNTRIES OFF! Time for cutting Arafat off as well. I heard the other day that it is suspected that he has stolen over 900 million dollars over the years. 900 MILLION! That would BUY a country. Ummm, maybe he should buy some toothpaste, looks like he could use some. A new dish towel as well.
The lady from Iraq who was on the council and was shot has died. I would like to ask all for special prayers for her family and that my God give them comfort. This is going to be a hard fight my friends but we are going to win, despite all the democracts are doing. I cringe to think of a democract as president of this country, we would have radicals on ever block in OUR nation so this country had better think twice and fast.
OK, coffee time AND a slimfast shake. I am serious about dropping some of this weight (one more time). I kinda like being around you know. Toby

Thught I would get envolved in a little serious conversation with all this afternoon. Topic, POLICE! Tdays responsibility (duties) placed on them in this hectic, dangerous times.
I joined the police service on Aug 15, 1959. I was given a 38 S&W revolver, uniforms and the likes. 38 pistol, you had more of a chance killing someone with it if you beat him to death, they were no accurate at all. I shot into a car door once trying to hit a fellow who had killed his girfriend and the bullet did went thru the outer skin of the car and did not even break the glass inside the door. Today, 9MM automatics, M16's, body armour, helmets, you name it but we in the early days had none of these. Progress is made.
Now, on your way to and from work each day I am sure you will se a motorcycle officer, a squad car of two out investigating a accident. The meassuring tapes come out, photo is called out and pictures are taken, it is all done professional like but why. In this day and time we are depending of the police officers to provide us protection from the radicals who are trying to blow us up and somehow I can't see a 72 year old lady who just bumped into another car planning to blow us up.
Then again we see the escort for a funeral, normally two motorcycle policemen, a squad car of two and it is to make the traffice proceed in a normal manner during the funeral. Why.
Here are the reasons. # 1 it is tradition, it always has been done this way so, we keep doing it. Mainly the accidents? Strictly for the insurance companies. Unless the officer sees the accident happens he/she can only submit it to a court of law, they have no idea what happened. Investigation of an accident is a very costly matter and it does tie up men who can be used looking for the radicals intending to do us death and destruction. The insurance companis do not compensate the police departments for their investigation, its all done for free for the insurance company not to mention the time spent in court by the officers over this accident.
Solution. The departments MUST start charging the insurance companies for the investigations. Believe me, they have the money to do so. Teh insurace companies could be charged enough for a department to have men and women to do nothing but investigate accidents. The name of the game today is free the officers to do progtection, not look at two cars who happened to run into each other.
Then there are the funerals. The funeral homes are the winners here as well. NOTHING is charged to them for the escort services and it is just down time for good men and women to do what they are trained to do, protect us. Private companies could be used for this escourt service with the funeral homes paying the bill.
Its also time to start putting the men and women (officers) who are assigned to admisistration back on the streets. Civilians can do what they do and the training is there just waiting to do this. But then again, its called tradition.
Oh well, this was just bugging me and I have been wanting to say this for some time now and now that I have, I feel better. I just know the departments are strapped for police offices and there are to many 'non police' functions being done that could free up a lot of officers.
