Now, the
theory is that the NEXRAD III images are coming automatically from
my computer; so if the images are reasonably current after a refresh, my computer is still online, and I am still able to communicate with y'all.
Off to fill the bathtubs.

Good morning Chair!
For all of you in the path (even the outer reaches) of this storm, please be very careful! The danger doesn't end when the storm is over...you'll have downed trees/tree limbs and power lines (STEER WELL CLEAR OF THESE!!!), as well as lots of standing water making driving very hazardous!
We'll be keepin' y'all in our thoughts and prayers!

I hear the RATs on the hill (and their media-rat allies) are whining about the "cost" of the War in Iraq (known to those of us capable of rational thought as the War on Terror). Well, this is my answer to them (at least the one that can be printed here!!):

Good morning! I am going to try to transplant a few things today, before the rain moves in.
Fox has reporters stationed at bout 6 sites along the coast. They have pocket anemometers so that they can measure the wind speed while reporting. Conversation is already getting a bit silly.

They have pocket anemometers so that they can measure the wind speed while reporting. And if anyone REALLY thinks these reporters will be placed in any harm - and thus record any really high wind readings on their pocket anemometers - I have some prime swamp land for sale too.

Well, I know that! James Rosen was on in DCand was making fun of hurricane reporting. In a very dramatic way he intoned.."This is James Rosen reporting from the Distict of Columbia, where only the strong remain." LOL!

Oh my goodness! Did you see who was allowed to pollute the editorial page of the WSJ? Laurence Tribe comes out in support of the Ninth Circus's decision.

Ninth Circus really stuck it to the Supreme Court in the decision....they made it personal.
I expect the Supremes to slap them back to next year.

Robert Novak hinted yesterday .....that the reason Clinton made the trip to CA..was because this was in the pipeline.....he had been given a headsup.
Kurt...they mocked the Supreme Court in the opinion......mocked them.....I don't see Scalia taking this slap and turning the other cheek.

I think you're right about the SCOTUS response.
I really wonder if this isn't part of a larger strategy to just raise the issue again in an effort to keep Dem voters angry about the 2000 election. There is probably no issue that will get them to the polls in larger numbers than a reminder that their election was "selected, not elected."
I suspect before next year's election, there will be a few more ways the Dem voters will be reminded of that.
