Area Woman Charged in Pitbull Attack
NORRISTOWN, Pa. Sept. 12, 2003 A woman was charged with recklessly endangering her neighbors after her two pit bulls roamed the block and allegedly trapped six people in their cars.
LaCora S. Watkins, 25, of West Pottsgrove, waived her preliminary hearing and could stand trial on 10 misdemeanor counts of recklessly endangering other persons.
Police said they received a call the night of June 25 that two pit bulls had trapped six people inside their cars. An officer who responded to the scene wrote in a criminal complaint that police were "prepared to use deadly force against the dogs when they stopped about 20 feet from us."
The officers went around the neighborhood, searching for the owner of the dogs, before encountering Watkins and telling her that the pit bulls were a public danger.
The dogs were ultimately brought back inside Watkins' house, police said. She was also charged with a summary disorderly conduct offense for allegedly failing to cooperate with police questioning.

Somewhat off topic - but did you know that in NYC, each year - more people get bitten by other people than dogs...

Easy on the language, this is a family site.
That having been said, I own two pits. My son and his best fiend living next door to me also own two pits. We got these because vermin kept stealing the other breeds from our back yard. No one can steal these. They don't leave the yard, and they don't let anyone in without someone from my family with them. We are aware that they can be dangerous, so we don't let them out of the yard without a leash. This breed is only dangerous when owned by evil or poorly informed people. Oh yeah, My wife's four cats love the dogs.

two pit bulls roamed the block and allegedly trapped six people in their cars. Why did'nt they just run over the dogs? Or were all of the cars out of gas with dead batteries ala "Cujo."

I think you are right cause my neighbor had a pit-bull and she played with hers all the time and it never bothered anyone....it actually followed my brother home and that is how she got it...We were not allowed dogs at the time or we would've gotten him....and he was full blooded too. Not all pit-bulls are mean...
