Area Woman Charged in Pitbull Attack
NORRISTOWN, Pa. Sept. 12, 2003 A woman was charged with recklessly endangering her neighbors after her two pit bulls roamed the block and allegedly trapped six people in their cars.
LaCora S. Watkins, 25, of West Pottsgrove, waived her preliminary hearing and could stand trial on 10 misdemeanor counts of recklessly endangering other persons.
Police said they received a call the night of June 25 that two pit bulls had trapped six people inside their cars. An officer who responded to the scene wrote in a criminal complaint that police were "prepared to use deadly force against the dogs when they stopped about 20 feet from us."
The officers went around the neighborhood, searching for the owner of the dogs, before encountering Watkins and telling her that the pit bulls were a public danger.
The dogs were ultimately brought back inside Watkins' house, police said. She was also charged with a summary disorderly conduct offense for allegedly failing to cooperate with police questioning.

People who do not control their animals and the animals
do damage should have their animals distroyed and should
face jail time.

Yeah...Yeah...another hysterical statist demanding the govt save him...from something an irresponsible person does..
The same hyperbole and hysteria used by the anti handgun crowd down at the Brady bunch
....handguns are evil...no one should own them...then pictures of murdered children are shown in mutilated color
Dogs save more lives each year than they ever take...countless times pit bull rotties dobermans and shepherds find lost children keep intruders muggers burglars rapists out of peoples homes and cars...
Where is the fair and balanced report of how many lives are saved every day by loyal guard dogs...
Just this mutt faced hysteria day after day...where are the stories about evil bicycles and sexually active virus transmitters..or the child posionings and skateboard accidents...plenty of gore there as well...
Oh well if it bleeds it leads I guess...

Dogs save more lives each year than they ever take I believe in breed profiling.
The "save" dogs are retrievers, collies, and shepherds.
The 'fighting breeds' should require a license - and ample insurance.

should have their animals distroyed Really? No other means.
How easily you part with life and play G-d.

THat is a misconception. The breeds do have differences but the only time the dogs are dangerous is when they have not been given CLEAR guidance. In the absence of an Alpha male or female, the dog starts making its own decisions and lives by the rules of the animal kingdom rather than the human ones.

If animals are out of control because their owners
do not take control of them at all times,
The animals are a hazard and the owners are scum.

the owners are scum. That is a bit to brad. If someone is a habitual offender, that person is a bad citizen and should be punisfed, serverly if warranted. I still do not think that qualifies to be called scum.
But the animals are, as you said, a hazard. You are an ethically challenged individual, my friend, if you see killing as the only way to deal with hazards, and if you so easily characterize people as scum.
I hope you are just having a bad day.

Yeah really. No other means. They're animals. Not human.
We have dominion,remember?
Mr. leave out the "o"in God.
Keep your "dogs' away from others or they will suffer the consequences.

Yeah really. No other means. They're animals. Not human. I happen to disagree. If you read having dominion as frivolous killing, it is you who is an animal.

"You are an ethically challenged"
Why don't you just surf on over to PETA or ELF?
Do you opine over murdered unborn children the same way you do over savage dogs that attack humans?
How come I think you don't?

Frivolous? Who said frivolous? The story said savge dogs kept humans trapped in their cars. That may be frivolous to you but it isn't to me.
Had I been in the car they would have been dead dogs pretty darn quick.
Animal rights do not trump my rights to live in peace and animal nuts do not get to define what is my appropriate level of peace.

over savage dogs that attack humans? Next time, before you write, read the post to which you are trying to respond.
You did and continue to put words in my mouth, and with every post you make less and less sense. Looks like you just want to fight. Well, I do not wrestle with children.
Have a good night.

"prepared to use deadly force against the dogs when they stopped about 20 feet from us."
I suggest you read the article again. When police officers consider the use of deadly force I think any rational person would agree the animals involved are "savage".
What constitutes appropriate use of deadly force in your mind?
When they're teeth are already in my neck?
Animal nuts are all alike. They expect the rest of us to be mauled or maimed before we respond.
Not in this lifetime chief!
Please do cut and run.
You don't have a rational argument and I dislike embarrassing strangers.
