The fun part of being an event organizer was wearing a walkie-talkie on my belt, like someone really important.

Well, you are someone important! You're a founding mother and esteemed contributor to The Guild!

Don't we all go to the Falls Church News for the news we need to know?

Truly, how could anyone start a day without coffee and Mr. Benton's opinion.

Gray Davis is campaigning like a pit bull out here, 24/7 almost. And the Press is giving him mega-coverage and fawning all over him, saying he is becoming more humanized etc etc.

Arnold's coverage will improve when Maria starts doing more...and they say they will "use" the kids too in a limited way...You know how the press is when it comes to the Kennedy's-they will drop Davis like a hot potato.

I think this is a nice picture (except that Maria's mascara is a bit smeared)...They seem to like each other. (In contrast to the Davis'...she looks at him adoringly all the time but he seems oblivious to her...)

Oh, pshaw, you're too kind.

What I learned: Wearing a walkie-talkie on one's belt not only makes one look silly, it causes an overwhelming urge to say "10-4" all day long, even when no one calls on the radio.

Ken Starr, Bless his heart, is looking a little "puffed up":

RE:Ken Starr -- How weird was today, what with Ken Starr arguing against Ted Olson before the Supremes on the Campaign Finance Reform Law? And for more irony, Scalia and Thomas, good friends of Olson's, are said to likely side w/Starr. I know that all four are close, but it has to be kinda weird to argue against each other. But then, I guess that's the lawyer "bidness."

That's the sad thing about where we've devolved.

They don't give a fat rat's ass about what they're "arguing" just as long as they can bill the hours.

They will get together over drinks and laugh at the doofs that think that they believe in whatever the cause may be.

Hey, re: Atkins, how are you doing with no sugar? That's the part that stopped me dead in my tracks after two days - what can I say, I'm addicted to Coca Cola.

I don't live in a mobile home but my daughter did for 5 years in the heart of tornado country. All you West Coasters have to worry about is an occasional earthquake to rattle your bones and the occasional mud slide. My daughter lived in New Madrid county, Missouri, home of the largest earthquake to ever hit the contiguous U.S. (Dec.1811-Jan.1812.
I live about 300 miles from her in central Illinois and this past May a tornado passed directly over my house. The reports of a toranado sounding like a freight train going over head are grossly understated. It sounds more like at least 100 freight trains passing over.
I wouldn't even consider living in a mobile home, not that they aren't good enough for me, only that I have seen what tornados do to them.

Now loddy, I think both Star and Olson have a lot of integrity. I wouldn't say that about most lawyers, though.

I don't see how the campaign finance law is constitutional. It will be interesting to see how the Court rules. Of course, that will depend on whether O'Conner is using her brain that day.

(Child Rapist) Polanski receives Academy Award statue (from Harrison Ford)

I think I now understand why Ford has a girl that looks like a skeleton for a love interest. Harrison is a closet pedophile.
