In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. Practice makes perfect.....post on....
deride \de*ride\, verb:

It is in the nature of tyranny to deride the will of the people as the voice of the mob, and to denounce the cry for freedom as the roar of anarchy.

Oh, yeah, he was only about 15 minutes late. He even brought work to do at home so he wouldn't be later getting home in the rain. It stopped raining just in time for me to light the grill to do steaks. Today is beautiful-blue skies and the temperature at least 10 degrees below normal for this time of the year. I smell early fall-good!

Ok you troublemakers. I need teachers for the whole week.
Things are wild and wooly at the office, so y'all can step in and cause mayhem and madness for a while.

Dallas fell apart though. :-( As did the Pack.
The Titans won the revenge match against the Raiders so the day wasn't a total bust. And hurray for the Texans! Setting the record for winning openers their first two years!
RAC, I tried to include your name up top but they kicked it back.
