Thanks, JL. I know that I haven't forgotten. I'm afraid many people have, however.
Just an example: my hairdresser told me of one of her customers. The discussion started with the war in Afghanistan and Iraq. She's upset about N. Korea having nukes because, as she put it, "They can HIT us with one of those!" Daggie (the hairdresser) reminded her that we've already been hit, and that's why we're at war. She dismissed it by saying, "Us! I meant us here in California!". You see, she's one of these people who thinks that President Bush is simply a war monger, and that we shouldn't be fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq. So what if Al Quaeda attacked New York and Washington, they left "us" alone. God, that just makes me sicker than I can say.

Here's another one by Ted Olson:
We shall prevail. Remembering and honoring the victims of September 11 is therefore not remotely sufficient. We must engrave their faces and tragically shortened histories on our hearts and in our souls. We must commit ourselves to the only goal that is worthy of their memories: to eradicate the disease that killed them, wherever it is and however long is takes. Their suffering and deaths must fuel our dedication to stamp out this cancer, and, in doing so, save those we love, and those who come after us, from future September elevens and the pain, loneliness and helplessness we experienced on that day two years ago and have lived with every day since then.

I've been lucky enough so far taht no-one has taken too much offense at anything I've said.
So far.

He said that these terrorists have been attacking us for years .. but it was at the military and many didn't pay attention. That it wasn't till 9/11 that many woke up to what has been going on .. because it hit home.
