Bob wasn't always the most responsible adult. Here he was, a 36 year-old single man, who would call to borrow money from his parents, and couldn't even afford the phone call. He would call collect.

Because of his dependability on his parents, and to save his parents a bit of money, they came a compromise. Bob would pick up the phone, make a collect call and have the operater announce his name as Bob Broke.

As time went on, his parents would know he needed some more money sent to him. Well, his parents eventually got tired of his lazy ways, as well as not being able to provide for himself.

So one day, Bob, made the same call, with the operator announcing a collect call from "Bob Broke". It wasn't accepted. A few minutes later, an astonished Bob picked up his ringing telephone.

It was the phone operator.

She said,

"This is a person-to-person phone call for Hugh Broke from Rob Bank."

Needless to say, the call wasn't accepted.

We got sharks out here on our coast. Beaches still closed...still have had sightings off our Pismo coast today...as many as 3 they say. And they seem to be swimming up and down the coast. Waters have been warm the reports say and there are tons of seals and that makes for Shark dining pleasure.

In our paper, after the lady was attacked by the GReat White here in Avila Beach a list of things to watch for was printed in the paper by a fellow who is in a swim club that swims the ocean.

the tips are general and for all to observe before going in the ocean: if you see lots of seals, sea lions,dolphins,birds sitting on the water, lots of activity like that, don't go in. The chances are that there may be some sort of bait ( like chum) in the waters and it attracts these sea life creatures and they attract the sharks.

The lady who was attacked and killed last week by the Great White was swimming with a lot of seals near her. They all of a sudden split because they could detect the threat but she could not get away soon enough and as it was 0800 in the morning and cloudy out, misty..the shark got her. Truth is they say the shark can't distinguish between human and seal.

Nope..in fact the project seems to keep growing. Now there will ge painting of the guestrooms since the hubbs wants to put in new carpet there as well as the hall. It makes sense I suppose so the carpet won't look all patchy but I hate to move all the furniture. And besides the carpet in those rooms is perfecly fine since those rooms don't get used too much...

It is going slowly but it does look nice and fresh...only bad thing is Missie does not like the upheaval. she is just set in her little kitty cat ways.
