In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “word for the day”. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the “word of the day”; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. Practice makes perfect.....post on....

No use cryin' over spilt paint though.

Dropped an (almost full) paint sprayer from the upper deck of the scaffolding two days ago ...

Spread the paint all over the sidewalk instead of the wall!

9. aint me. I deliver the unread morning news and glass of ice water to LE before I leave everymorning. Cept when the stupid paper guy is late (I leave at 5:30), but I still fix the ice water.

Thanks! I'll have to look at it next time I'm in the city. I'm currently re-reading an old favorite of mine in a series set in post-Roman Britain, "The Fort at Rivers' Bend" by Jack Whyte.

i had been reading almost all nonfiction for a long time, and after reading The Secret Life of Bees, bc it was on xsteen's summer reading list, i got in the mood for novels (That one, by the way, is excellent. i read it in 24 hours).

The paper dude is POing me. I actually feel bad when I have to tell you it aint there yet. If he doesn't get better I need to stop the delivery service to prevent feeling bad over something I can't control. It's that ownership side of me.

I have not heard of "The Secret Lives of Bees", but just the title makes you want to read it to see if bees really have secret lives.

I'll look in the Library for it when I stop by there this afternoon.

I have already finished the 2 Andrew Greeley novels I got from the library on Tuesday.

I may not like Greeley's politics as a Priest - but I have always loved his novels.
