Kitty Caption of the Week XVII - Meow Box (Humor and Meow Alerts)

PetroniDE is late again with this week's kitty thread. How will the ping list respond and how will said response be compared to when he is late with his cat's dinner? At least the US Postal Service is timely with the mail, except when the mail box is "heavily guarded".

Someone remind me what beasts kittens are, and how I should really be content with the companionship of my cats. Remind me of needle sharp teeth in the toes at 2 am. Please. Someone. I'm begging you.

Oh, kittens are little devils, all right. I've never had a kitten who didn't ambush me and attack my ankles, launch themsleves from the back of a couch or chair onto my back as I walk by (and that hurts!) or attack everything that moves. But they're so darn cute and entertaining, you just can't get mad at them. And they do grow up eventually....

Yes I have. The pictures that feature President Bush and Spiderman come to mind. If you missed the previous threads and want to see which ones I have used, do a search based on the keyword "Meow" in the "General Interest" section.

I try to mix and match sources and let others on the ping list make suggestions. My favorites are the "Clinton Chomping Kitty", "Stick 'Em Up Kitty", and the "Spiderman Knock Down Kitty". Also have a "Machine Gun Kitty" used on a thread before the weekly series got started.

Your plea struck a chord with me. I waited 6 years to replace my dear Barney who died at 16. Whoa! I had completely forgotten what's involved in owning a kitten! Boo, an all gray female was being given away at a yard sale and before I could slap duct tape over my mouth, I said, "I'll take her!" She's been with me 6 months now and I have never been scratched and bitten so much in my life. Just playing, of course, but drawing blood. My doctor even asked me about my scratches and bruises last visit! Boo is so playful and I was not prepared to be her play toy. She also has ripped my furniture (damask chairs, sofas) so shreds and completely ignores any disciplinary measures I have tried--spray bottle (she likes it!) whacks with a rolled up newspaper (she plays with it!), verbal commands (gives me wide eyed innocent look), throwing lightweight objects like ping pong balls at her (she loves this!) and so I am at the end of my rope. HOWEVER, I would never give her up now as she is so cute and plays with soft paws and soft mouth now (most of the time) and sleeps in a bowl onn my table (cuter than cute). She is a big job and I did not see that coming. I change her litter box every 4 days as I can't stand cat smell, and I've had her fixed and she's had her shots this month. She is loving and plans her whole life around me. That is some kind of wonderful that only a kitten can give you that you bond with when it's young. I know your aprehension, as I felt it too for years, but I finally took the plunge. All I can say is, there's no going back now. By the way, enjoy your kitten. I know you will get one. Ha ha.

BAD KITTY. I need to find a water pistol.

Finbar thinks the water pistol is a game. He's the only kitty I've ever had who doesn't fear it. When I aim it at him as he's about to do something naughty, you can see him weighing the options. He almost always opts to try to do whatever bad thing he was considering and then hurtle off to beat the water spray.
