If there are any paramedics or EMT's out there who happen to see this message, I would like to exchange some email. I am thinking about getting into an EMT training program. Because of my age (55) and lack of experience, I don't know about this.
I used to work for a newspaper and to go out on calls with my camera at various hours, so I do have some idea what would be involved. Not all that pleasant.
But it still seems like a good thing to do. Might even save a life. I just don't know that I can do it.
What I want to know is what the hardest parts are.
Thank you for the answer.
It does get gruesome. It would not be the gerbils tho. They would be the joke.
Picking up the dead body of a 13 year old heroin addict or gunshot wound would be gruesome. I think there is a fair amount of that. That is part of what worries me.
If you still talk with him, please invite him to talk with me. My email address is hcdotme@ntelos.net
