Since you are a farmer, I thought I would tell you about my farming experiences this summer.

I planted 10 tomato plants this spring. I like a nice fresh tomato, so I planted 10, just in case a couple died.

Why have I not been on FR lately?

BECAUSE IT'S FREAKIN' HARVEST TIME!!!!

I am overrun in tomatoes. I am picking them daily. My stovetop is all tomatoes, my windowsills are tomatoes, my plants are still covered in tomatoes.

I have made gallons of sauce, I have given bag upon bag to the homeless shelter.

I just went outside to water these evil beast of a plant, and those stupid things are growing more flowers. I have to get read for round two.

WILL THIS EVER END!!

10 plants is quite a few for one person. Unfortunately, tomatoes are not as difficult to give away as zucinni. There's a guy in our community who leaves zucinni on doorsteps, sort of like May Baskets, then rings the door bell and runs!

If you don't want anymore tomatoes, quit watering them. The vines will wither and die and your problem will be solved.

It has been so hot and dry here, my largest tomato has been no larger than a baseball. I am used to the softball sized ones which hang out on the sides of a hamburger bun.
