In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. Practice makes perfect.....post on....
scintilla \sin-TIL-uh\, noun
scintillant; adjective
1. A tiny or scarcely detectable amount; the slightest particle; a trace
2. A spark; a flash.
3. Miniscule
In victory, they must hold on to at least a scintilla of humility, lest they get too cocky -- and ripe for a takedown.
--Bill Breen, "'We are literally trying to stop time,'" Fast Company, May 2000
Etymology: Latin scintilla, "a spark, a glimmer, a faint trace." Also from scintilla is the verb scintillate, "to sparkle."

Men in the grocery clogging up the aisles get on my nerves. Flurry can attest to the fact that I make grocery shopping an aerobic activity.

flurry, you can say you hate it, i won't be offended. i like Talbots bc it is stylish but not floozy, and a bit sophisticated. some stuff is just too juvenile. they have the same styles for teens as women our age and it doesn't always translate well.

I don't shop with hubby either.
But I have to admit, he has very good taste when he shops for me. I have never even considered returning anything he has ever bought me, because I would have picked out the same thing. He's even an ace at sizes, everything has always fit.

Flurry can attest to the fact that I make grocery shopping an aerobic activity. That's why hubby has no problem going with me when major shopping has to be done - I want in and out of there as fast as possible.

Actually I love it...just the look I want. I looks at Rich's-Macy's and Parisian (THAT store again), and nothing appealed to me at all. Everything looked just alike, and was very cheaply made.

oh for the love of God...I often shop with the Mrs. When she gets off on dopey shopey tangents it's a good time to catch up on my magazines. When the shopping is interesting, or an opinion is needed, there I am.
To: Hegewisch Dupa
there is no way i want anyone with me. not even women friends. i shop best alone.
