In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “word for the day”. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the “word of the day”; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. Practice makes perfect.....post on....

It wafted nearer yet, and then she knew That what before she but surmised, was true. --Dryden.

i realize that was Canada, but can they seriously think that a majority or even a significant minority of ANY parish would rally behind them?

When he is ON, no one, and I mean NO ONE, does it better than PJB.

That having been said....I wish he would have hit one more note...vis-a-vis....The Vatican, however, seeing the movement gaining ground, has issued a document of moral clarity calling civil unions "gravely immoral" and homosexual acts "deviant," and urging Christian leaders to oppose homosexual marriages and adoptions. "There are absolutely no grounds for considering homosexual unions to be in any way similar or even remotely analogous to God's plan for marriage and family," declared the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, the Roman Church's watchdog of orthodoxy. Its 12-page guide, approved by John Paul II, states, "Marriage is holy, while homosexual acts go against the natural moral law."

Wake me when the Vatican, PUBLICLY takes those that trade off of their catholicism for votes, while going against every tenet of the faith to task ....

Some place like San Francisco, maybe, but not in most places, especially after the Pope's public statement condemning that sort of thing.

To see Robinson elevated to bishop is to be reminded that in the French Revolution, the Paris mob used the high altar at Notre Dame Cathedral to canonize the town tramp as their Goddess of Reason.

When Pat's right he's really right! Too bad it's not as often as it used to be.

Sounds good. :) I'll have to talk to my MIL about it as well. She's usually good about keeping the kids if I'm there but hubby's aunt is coming that weekend maybe so I don't know if that will effect anything or not. We don't have to go out and drink or anything. We could just go play pool or darts or something (i seriously suck at both but enjoy it anyway.) I'm still going to get my whole weekend trip with no kids after the trip in the next month or month and a half so I'll get to go take care of the drinking part eventually.

I'm just a cheap drunk. 2 cosmopolitans and I can hardly walk. (seriously) Last time I had 2 of them, hubby had to carry me to bed. No idea what is even in one of them. I don't get sick though. I thought I was going to get sick the night he had to carry me to bed, but I finally passed out. The room just kept spinning though while i was awake and I was laying on the living room floor holding on to a pillow like it was a life raft.

Oh, you're fishing for a compliment? How's this? If there are 48 Liberals lining up somewhere, it's likely they're outside your front door waiting for your husband to leave for work.

How's that?

We insult each other all the time. If I didn't insult her from time to time she'd think I was sick and would pretend to be concerned, then I'd have to pretend to appreciate it, and we'd be making each other nauseous pretty quickly, so, you see, it pays not to be nice.

Told my daughter if anyone ever honked her out, I'd calmly go outside and remove the air from their tires.
