In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. Practice makes perfect.....post on....

i know you think that your little girl is more strongwilled or somehow different than what we had to deal with. i assure you, she is not. they cannot DIE from crying. they cannot get SICK from crying. they can and will get tired of crying and if you don't respond to it, they will QUICKLY learn that there is no point to it.
i swear to you, honey, you will be a better mommy to them both, if you can get more sleep.

I love Dole. He has a great sense of humor! Too bad BobDole didn't use his sense of humor in the campaign, maybe we would have been spared the second term of BealzaBubba.

Well, my libertarian side is only when it comes to property rights and somewhat into the WOD. I don't even do drugs (anymore) but I get annoyed at things like pot being illegal even though I don't do it. I honestly believe the WOD is contributing to the shootings going on in my neighborhood over drug dealer territory. (but that is probably for another thread, LOL)

That's okay, dear-you were very young. I used to give money to the Nature Conservancy until I found out that they often use coercion to get people to sign over/sell property to them.

it was really really awful, but hey, i was at the end of my rope. getting up with an infant is bad enough, but getting up with an infant AND a toddler is beyond the pale. we used to play a tape of classical music or WEE SING at bedtime for her to go to sleep, so she was coming in and asking for the tape again, in the middle of the *ing night. it was not do-able. my pediatrician was firm that this was what we needed to do. so we did it. she is a well-adjusted teen and we are close, so while i suppose she could end up in therapy later in life over it, i doubt it!

The older one sleeps about 12 hours straight at night... Aren't you lucky........I don't know how mine can function on the little amount of sleep she gets, I know I can't.

It's because they secretly draw our energy stores out of us while we are sleeping and then use them to beat us up. :-)

"Go back to that method and stick with it. Come to the Freep when you think you can't take the crying and we will talk you through it. Consistency is key! Believe me, we know about this stuff and how to make it better. "
Yeah but you guys are all asleep when bedtime rolls around. And hubby has just a little willpower with the sobbing and screaming as i do so he's no help.

The users were never the ones that scared me - it was the dealers who lived across the street from me.
It's amazing, but, some of the same anti-smokers I was referring to earlier today actually found fault with me for calling the police on the crack dealers. The claim was that I was a bigger drug addict and had no right to find fault with other addicts, let alone call the authorities on them.

I'll stay up with you if you like. :-) But only if you promise to really try the method. It won't take more than a few nights. Really.
