Just a little LOVE SONG...
Leaves from the diary of a single dad ^ | Aug. 8 2003 | Carlo3b, a FReeper lover.

Just a little LOVE SONG...

It comes at a time when everyone needs a breather in their complex lives, someone write a song that stirs the deepest emotion, from the recesses of their soul to the twinkle in their eyes.

Ares son of Zeus; god of prophecy, light, poetry, and music, may not have started it, but he at least recorded it, if only in mythology, music is emotion. Songs in general, and LOVE SONGS in particular, have answered our need to express our inner passion, yearning, and desires, into sounds and words.

Poetry, and verse do translate into feelings and conjure up strong desires, lust, and yearnings, but when blended with sound it seems to hit the desired note in all of us..

Share with us, if you would please, your idea of the true love song, and if I assure you I won't tell anyone, tell me how it worked on you.... fingers crossed, eyes squeezed shut, mouth covered... ;)

OK....It's Chris ISAAK and these are the lyrics.....still looking for an audio link:

Wicked Game

The world was on fire
and no one could save me but you.
It's strange what desire
will make foolish people do.
I never dreamed that I'd meet
somebody like you.
And I never dreamed that I'd lose
somebody like you.

No, I don't want to fall in love.
(This world is only gonna break your heart)
No, I don't want to fall in love.
(This world is only gonna break your heart)
With you. With you.

What a wicked game you play,
to make me feel this way.
What a wicked thing to do,
to let me dream of you.
What a wicked thing to say,
you never felt this way.
What a wicked thing to do,
to make me dream of you.

And I don't wanna fall in love.
(This world is only gonna break your heart)
No I don't want to fall in love.
(This world is only gonna break your heart)

World was on fire
and no one could save me but you.
Strange what desire will make
foolish people do
I never dreamed that I'd love
somebody like you
I never dreamed that I'd lose
somebody like you

No, I don't want to fall in love.
(This world is only gonna break your heart)
No, I don't want to fall in love.
(This world is only gonna break your heart)
With you. With you.

No, I.

Nobody loves no one

You beat me to it, Carlo! Thank you. .45MAN and I stepped out for a bit to go to the range while it was still early and relatively non-busy.

The link only plays the intro, though. Hmmmmm......

I LOVE that song! Angel, you're right, he does have the same 'earnestness' as RO.

Meanwhile, I've been searching the net for words and music of Elmore James' The Sky is Cryin' performd by Stevie Ray Vaughn.

If you're ever feelin' blue and want to veg out in that state for a while, this is the song...Lyrics... MP3 Download.

I will always be in love with Perry Como ! Think of all the years he sang to us, and was a gentleman all the while. I miss him.

The Sky Is Crying

The sky is cryin'

Can't you see the tears roll down the street

The sky is cryin'

Can't you see the tears roll down the street

I've been looking for my baby

And I wonder where can she be

I saw my baby early one morning

She was walking on down the street

I saw my baby early this morning

She was walking on down the street

You know it hurt me, hurt me so bad

Made my poor heart skip a beat

I've got a real real real real bad feelin'

That my baby she don't love me no more

I've got a real real bad feelin'

That my baby don't love me no more

You know the sky, the sky's been cryin', ya

Can't you see the tears roll down my nose

I had the pleasure of working with Perry Como, on one of his many wonderful Christmas Specials about #%@%* years ago.. LOL.  He wasn't as mild and sweet as I thought he would be, but a strong businessman, and great to work with, very disciplined, and a dedicated workhorse. Everything was wholesome on the set, and even the catered food was homemade.. Ha!

Everything was by the script, and no bad language or off colored messing around. He was a natural singer, no missed notes or long rehearsals.. I miss him for being a wonderful family man, and a credit to our country, as well as the Italians.

Very interesting! I guess he was one of those that seemed to be one that had scruples. We never really heard much about his private life, other than he was one that pretty much stayed private.

I often wonder what today's kids will do years from now out on the rocking swing on the front porch...when they put the music on and say " Ohhhhh, remember this one honey? And they play some heavy metal !!!! hahahahaa

Aren't we glad we had this experience of songs that put you right back to a special place and time. Heck, even we even look the same when we do that !

"...He made the lyrics track wonderfully with the music, and the music on the tape puts this MIDI to shame..."

We ran the MIDI through a 'Bandbox' program and guess what? The whole orchestra was in there!

Most MIDI music on the web contains the whole orchestra, and that's how a guy can become a one-man-band.(Don't tell anybody - I need the work).........FRegards

I love Blues, Jazz, Blue Grass, Pop, Rock, Gospel...and I love Andrea Bocelli ! For lack of time now, I will post his song CON TE PARTIRO sung with Sarah Brightman. I prefer his solo, but right now, I don't have the time to post it.

Time To Say Goodbye (Con Te Partiro)
