In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. Practice makes perfect.....post on....
pandemian \pan*dem*ee*an\, adjective
pandemianly; adverb
pandemiousness; noun
1. Vulgar
2. Sensual
The characteristics of Aphrodite have bewildered philosophers who, like Plato, made a distinction between the two aspects of the goddess, one Uranian "celestial," as the goddess of pure love, and Pandemian, or "popular," as the goddess presiding over ordinary love affairs.
Etymology: I couldnt find the etymology, double grades to the student who brings it to class!

Ick, Hill and Bill cetainly encompass this word. Vile creatures that they are.
A+
(blushing) Thanks CL, you are more than welcome. :-)

The second link was of an Oriental woman donning a costume to look like a Coca Cola vending machine and the final shot had her standing in a row of real vending machines. Nothing offensive - just strange.

Gabz, did you enjoy your afternoon?
To: dixie sass
Hiya Dixie.
That's a possible definition, but I think Arghie was more on the mark.
Oh that Biship thing... disgraceful, I had some rather pithy remarks to make on it, but that in itself could get me some time in the cooler. A+
Are you and Taxman going to CPAC coming up??
To: RikaStrom

Fairly Oddparents(cartoon on nickelodeon) just made fun of the french! lol It's a cartoon for kids too young to understand it I think so it must have been thrown in for the parents. There was a french couple eating lunch and Timmy accidently hit them with a water balloon. They jumped up with their arms straight in the air and yelled "We surrender! We surrender!" (in a french accent of course)

OOO, OOO, Teach! Here it is (now that I'm home with my reference books): Latin, pandemus pandemic from the Greek pandemos of or belonging to all the people. What I said about Goddess of Love was close, they mention pandemos Eros which means vulgar love, i.e. the carnal. You're welcome.
