In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. Practice makes perfect.....post on....
pandemian \pan*dem*ee*an\, adjective
pandemianly; adverb
pandemiousness; noun
1. Vulgar
2. Sensual
The characteristics of Aphrodite have bewildered philosophers who, like Plato, made a distinction between the two aspects of the goddess, one Uranian "celestial," as the goddess of pure love, and Pandemian, or "popular," as the goddess presiding over ordinary love affairs.
Etymology: I couldnt find the etymology, double grades to the student who brings it to class!

I'm in the 1% of women over 40 that can't stand the creep. Most of my friends LOVE Rod Stewart. BAH!

i fully admit xshub is aberrant, food-wise, but not liking mexican, to me at least, is more reasonable than not liking ITALIAN, for example. which xshub is, 100%, and i mean all 4 grandparnts were off the boat!

Possible etymology: "pan"--Greek for all, general, common
"demos"--Greek for people (Demos is name of a Martian Moon), hence democracy, rule of the people
Therefore Greek "pandemos", meaning "all the people.
CF pandemic: universal, common, etc.
Pandemian=(by derivation) common, therefore by extension= coarse, vulgar (from Latin "vulgus", common people)

Women say his voice is sexy. Not to me. Sounds like he's got throat cancer. I'm glad you show the same excellent taste I do. :^)

Ditto re Rod. He looks like he needs a bath, but even that wouldn't help. I don't know anything about the other two except that I believe xs has the terminal hots for Toby.

seriously. and his mom used to make fantastic sauce from scratch with 3 diff kinds of meat in it. she let him get away with murder. making special stuff for him. i REFUSE to do that. i had xsboy giving me lip twice this week saying that he didn't want what i was making for dinner. TOUGH! i said that my mother sure didn't prepare special stuff for me, or let me just make myself a hotdog in the microwave if i didn't like what she was making and i am damned if he will be permitted to do that. he already eats a wider variety and likes things that his father (xshub) will not eat, but i do believe that xshub's mom spoiled him and it did not serve him well. for business meals, etc. he is at a serious disadvantage.

I love to cook, but I never pampered the youngun' with anything like three meat sauce. And if she didn't want what was on the table, they she didn't eat. My hubby's mom thought along those lines, too. You put it on the table, he will eat it, guaranteed, unless it's a steak left on the grill too long. the one food I loathe and despise is saurkraut. Just the smell of it makes me want to heave. That said, I do fix it for hubby once or twice a year with sausage.

actually, he would not touch the 3 meat sauce. he won't eat anything with sauce on it. i was just giving an example of how good a cook of Italian food she was, and it was entirely lost on him. he doesn't eat pizza either.
well his pampering days are long past. he is lucky to get fed in our house. i make what a majority of the group is likely to eat, and if isn't anything he will eat, then he can have salad and bread and call it good! i made Italian sausage and peppers the other night, bc xsteen requested it. the other 2 kids were not enthused and ate what they could to get by, but he who makes a request will likely get it granted, if i haven't already started something else.

You should try deep fried hot dogs. That's how I like them. You can fry them whole or cut them into bite sized peices and fry them until they are black.
