Word For The Day, Friday, August 8, 2003
The Verbivores | 8/8/03 | Teacher

Posted on 08/08/2003 5:11:44 AM PDT by RikaStrom

In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “word for the day”. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the “word of the day”; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. Practice makes perfect.....post on....

pandemian \pan*dem*ee*an\, adjective
pandemianly; adverb
pandemiousness; noun

1. Vulgar
2. Sensual

The characteristics of Aphrodite have bewildered philosophers who, like Plato, made a distinction between the two aspects of the goddess, one Uranian "celestial," as the goddess of pure love, and Pandemian, or "popular," as the goddess presiding over ordinary love affairs.

Etymology: I couldn’t find the etymology, double grades to the student who brings it to class!

She eats tons of graham crackers and similar textured foods all day long! She's definitely not a starved child but will keep you up all night if you don't feed her when she wants you too!

LOL I haven't boiled even their pacifiers since the toddler was born. His first pacis I boiled and then decided that if the germs didn't come off in the dishwasher, they weren't coming off anywhere else.

If you drop something on the floor and pick it up and blow on it in 10 seconds or less, no germs.

The list of foods I don't eat is longer than the list I do eat. 99% of the time the reason is "That looks/smells nasty." There is not a single vegetable that I eat either... unless ketchup is considered a vegie.

Simple idea. Move the tank to the top of the refrigerator. And he NEVER gets back any toys that he puts in a fish tank, period. It sounds like he's been watching Blue's Clues "Will it Sink or Float?" segment.
If he want to play in water, fill the sink and give him toy boats.

"If you drop something on the floor and pick it up and blow on it in 10 seconds or less, no germs. "

Yep, and if it falls on the floor inside the apartment, no important germs! The crawler frequently eats anything that falls on the floor in here. Wiping a paci on my shirt also effectively removes germs. Licking my thumb and wiping off the paci with it does even better. I swear my kids are going to end up with some weird virus from their paci one day. It's ok though.. that'll just boost their immune system when they get over it.

Toss a few of those moisture packets in fish tank. Then next day flush dead fish, drain tank, put in closet. Problem solved.

Maybe you hit the mail on the head. He watches 3 or 4 episodes of Blue's Clues everyday. Maybe I should actually take him outside sometimes instead of letting him watch so much TV... nahhh..it's too hot.

I seriously am thinking of taking down that tank. The fish can go in my mom's pond.

Plus, if you haven't already tired of unsolicited advice, Ferber's book would do wonders for your family sleeping habits. The hardest part is listening to them cry while reminding yourself that they are just fine(after you sneak a peek) and will not starve.
