In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. Practice makes perfect.....post on....
pandemian \pan*dem*ee*an\, adjective
pandemianly; adverb
pandemiousness; noun
1. Vulgar
2. Sensual
The characteristics of Aphrodite have bewildered philosophers who, like Plato, made a distinction between the two aspects of the goddess, one Uranian "celestial," as the goddess of pure love, and Pandemian, or "popular," as the goddess presiding over ordinary love affairs.
Etymology: I couldnt find the etymology, double grades to the student who brings it to class!

Doesn't anyone in Hollyweird have afresh Idea.
Well the Coen brothers can only do so much, and we haven't heard anything from David Lynch in a while...do you think he finally lost his mind? I miss him.

Maybe Pandemia is a precursor to Pandemonium?
Bishops, country music, football?
What's next, comic book heros?

The only reason I am posting a link to
this illiterate, pandemian rant is to announce that I have come across a columnist that makes Maureen Dowd's prose seem positively stately.
Also, this makes me so happy I no longer live in San Francisco.
Meanwhile, if some kind soul could explain to me what this is all about, I would be ever so grateful.

Lynch is probably working on his version of Old Yellar.

(shaking sand from everything)
The baby has had a bit of a runny nose for a few days. This morning for about an hour she had been gagging a little and threw up twice... I thought it was just the sinus drainage. I picked her up and thought I'd try rocking her to sleep. Well, when I sat down with her she opened her mouth really wide to scream (she didn't want to sleep) and she had a STICKER on the roof of her mouth in the very back! It was a little round sticker that covers the screws on the cheap wooden entertainment center. It was pretty small and hard to get out too. She's a human vaccuum! No idea how she got the sticker off to put into her mouth.
